Hi, I'm 4ish weeks. I have had brown blood for 3 days on wiping! Is this normal.. if it was a miscarriage wouldn't the blood be red??? I am going for more bloods in morning But haven't slept in days now thinking just want to know either way.. anyone got any good/bad storys. Just kind of want an idea (ow I dont no!! sorry for ranting) thanks xx

@Babymum5 it could possibly be implantation blood - which takes so long to come out that it turns brown.
I got my implantation blood (brown) come out at 5 weeks.
Keep any eye out, but fingers crossed it's just part and parcel of early pregnancy xx

It is very common to have a bit of bleeding in early pregnancy. But when I had a missed miscarriage the blood was brown. In another pregnancy I had red blood and it was fine. The difference was with the miscarriage there was some mucous too as in hindsight the mucous plug was coming away slowly. Hope all goes well for you Flowers

@Babymum5
What sort of volume are we talking about?
Just when wiping or the needs to wear a sanitary towel? X

Babymum5 · 14/12/2020 21:56

Only wiping.. maybe a small smear on pad? X

I guess as the other poster implies, you won't really know the outcome until it develops or you have your scan.
Brown blood was normal for me, but might be different for someone else. Sit tight and fingers crossed for your scan on Monday xx

Speaking from experience, I had brown blood for about a week when I was six weeks pregnant and then one day of bright red blood which to me confirmed MC. Fast forward seven weeks and after getting blood tests because my HCG levels never seemed to go down so I thought I had an incomplete MC, I go for a scan and there was baby, all comfortable and healthy at 13 weeks! Blood is not always a bad sign so try your best to stay as positive as you can ❤️❤️

Hi sorry to jump on your post. I've been having slight brown discharge too...
How do you go about getting bloods done for hcg?
Haven't even contacted the doctor/ midwife yet as last time I did I had to cancel as I miscarried :-( x

I’ve had brown discharge on and off I was scanned at 6+6 and baby was there measuring a few days more and with the heartbeat. I’ve had the brown discharge since only when wiping but was advised to only contact EPU if it became red. Seems to be there one day then not the next so hoping it’s just a symptom I’ve got

I had brown bloody at 5\5 weeks pregnant only when I wiped then had light period type bleed the next day and confirmed mc/chemical pregnancy. Fast forward to now I’m 9 weeks pregnant and have light brown discharge but no blood. No idea if it’s going the same way. EPU won’t see you until you have pains (that was the policy where I live) however they may see you. They said wait a week and do another pregnancy test (this was the first time, not called them this time as know what they’ll say)
Hope it works out well for you as lots of positive stories and everyone is different x
