Can I ask for a bit of a hand hold...

I have my 12 week scan on Monday morning and I’m absolutely terrified incase something is wrong.
The past 4 weeks since my early scan have been nothing but anxiety ridden.

Around 9 weeks my symptoms disappeared... not just gradually or slightly. My boobs went from being agony to the slightest touch to completely normal. My nausea disappeared and I seemed to regain my appetite.

I know this can be normal around this time, but it’s sent me a bit loopy, constantly worrying and making my anxiety worse by Googling absolutely everything that comes to mind.

Just looking for a little hand hold as I’m so anxious that something could be wrong that I don’t think I’ll get much sleep tonight or tomorrow.

I hardly had any symptoms and no bump. Didn’t sleep night before scan and was so so anxious. It all turned out fine and he’s w gorgeous 8 months old now.

Good luck tomorrow

On the opposite side I had very strong symptoms all the way from 4 weeks until I miscarried at 10-11 weeks, and yet the pregnancy had never developed past 6 weeks. Symptoms aren't really a guarantee of anything, each pregnancy is so so different, symptoms disappearing can mean nothing.

@Garman- I’m so sorry for you loss.

Thank you, I'm over the shock and process of it now and really am fine 🙂 Hopefully all is well with your scan on Monday x

I felt pretty much back to normal from 9 weeks, was terrified for my scan and convinced myself something would be wrong. Saw a very wriggly little baby and all was fine. 14+3 now and the anxiety never really goes away. Sending you a hand hold, I’m sure it will be fine but I understand the worry x

Illy605 · 13/12/2020 10:43

@swiftt Thank you. It’s good knowing other people have experienced the same. Hoping I see a very wriggly baby tomorrow!!

@Illy605 I wouldn’t recommend doing this, but my mind went into overdrive with worry and I must have googled and ready every single ‘loss of symptoms’ thread on Mumsnet. The majority of them had positive outcomes, which was reassuring. But of course, there is unfortunately a small number of sad outcomes and I seemed to focus on those. So I’d try and avoid doing that, but again I know how hard it is. I’ve got a gender scan in 2 weeks and I’m sure I’ll be just as much of a nervous wreck before that one too! Let us know how you get on tomorrow! Flowers

I was a bit sleepy and bloated but otherwise had barely any symptoms in my first trimester, I had an early scan at 9 weeks which went perfectly and was still nervous for my 12 week scan especially as I was alone for it.
I now have a healthy chubby 5 week old boy, I realised worrying didn't stop anything bad happening but it's normal to do so.

I lost all my sympyoms at 9 weeks, baring big bigger boobs, i was worried sick everyday thinking something was wrong, but got told every women if different and its normal, thankfull everything was pkay at 12 weeks, im 13+4 now and still worry xx

Hey, when I was 7/8 weeks I lost ALL my symptoms very suddenly and also had cramps and a bit of bleeding. Was 100% convinced I was having a mc. My GP referred me to the EPU for a scan and baby was completely healthy with a strong heartbeat.

I remember lying on the table absolutely steeling myself for the news, and I actually said, 'There's a HEARTBEAT?' when they told me.

Then I think symptoms levelled off for me around 10 weeks and I pretty much felt normal after that.

Hth and good luck! x

Thank you all so much. It really does help to hear other people have had a loss of symptoms but all’s been fine. I’m so excited for tomorrow but nervous as hell too. Keeping as busy as I can today to keep my mind off it and hopefully I’ll get a good sleep tonight! 💕
