Implantation bleeding then period pains???

Hi ladies.

How are you all?

I just wanted to ask some ladies that have had their bfp or previously been pregnant a couple of questions.

Basically I have been trying to conceive for 6 months now. Being in a same sex relationship and using donor sperm we only get one try each cycle.

The last previous 5 cycles I've had no symptoms at all so it wasn't a big surprise when my period came.

Anyhoo this month I had what I believed to be implantation pains. They were on and off all day for 3 days from 9dpo through to 11dpo. They were shooting pains but rather than being sharp they were a quick dull ache that moved through the centre of my uterus. It's really hard to explain the pain. J can only imagine this is the pulling sensation so many ladies talk about during implantation. And it wasn't exactly painful more a quick dull shooting pain. Hope this is all making sense?? I have also been extremely bloated the last 3 days so I'm unsure if it trapped wind but I've never experienced a pain like it and also never had trapped wind in my womb area before.

But these 'pains' have now stopped. I am 12dpo and now getting what feels like period cramps :(

I wanted to ask if anyone had experienced implantation pains like I described and also if period type cramps is also normal during early pregnancy? I so want a baby and its so hard knowing we only get one try a month. Each month I am getting more and more deflated. I have learnt to stop symptom spotting and I don't test before my period is due but I have never had pains like I described before and I deffo would have noticed these in the last 5 month's ttc.

I hope some of you ladies can fill me with confidence :)

Thanks

Kay

Hi @Vinceypie if it's any help I had period type pains right up to period being due and even in the first week weeks after I got my BFP. Symptoms of pregnancy and periods are sadly very similar 😣but don't give up hope, I was CONVINCED my period was about to start and I'm nearly 28 weeks pregnant now 🥰
Keep us posted! X

Hi @hungryHippo20

Thanks so much for your message.

Trying to conceive is definitely sending me a little loopy but I must admit I do find the 2 week wait quite exciting!! This is the only month I have had any thing different happen in my cycle so fingers crossed this is it 🤞🤞 I am currently 13dpo so my period is due tomorrow and I'm so tempted to test but I'll try and wait until Tuesday if AF still hasnt arrived.

No new symptoms as such, although today I woke up with a racing heart and feeling a little sick. I actually felt sea sick while in the bath haha. Weird!!

Thanks again for your reply. It has filled me with confidence!!

Vinceypie · 15/12/2020 14:35

@gemmaemily thanks for your reply :) and that gives me even more confidence. However I'm still certain AF is about to start but like you ladies say... so did you. Did you feel the exact same as you always did before AF? But congrats on your pregnancy 😁😁 Such an amazing miracle!! Is all going smoothly for you? X

I felt really under the weather, I took a covid test (we have them twice weekly for work) as I thought it may have been that! But the usual cramping, back ache, nausea! Then when AF didn't come on the day I took a test in the evening just as I didn't feel right! Very faint positive 😱❤️ it's not been too bad!! Had a scare last week .. all ok just me being too worried and worrying about every little niggle I think! I haven't been pregnant since 2012 (when I was only 19 and so chill!!) and I'm the complete opposite now! I have everything crossed for you. Keep us updated!! 🥰 xx

Vinceypie · 15/12/2020 16:45

I'm glad everything is ok with you and the baby. When are you due? My wife carried our 1st baby, she was as calm as anything but I panicked about every little thing haha! Lord knows what I'll be like when I'm the one pregnant!! AF is still not here and the period cramps have stopped so hoping that's a good sign :) I'll test tomorrow and let you know the outcome Smile

Just to update you all. I done a test this morning which come back with the a super faint positive. It was a cheap one step test so im not sure if it's an evap line?? I also have period pains and feel very stressy haha! So I'm not convinced the test is an actual positive. Will test again tomorrow with a clear blue. Grrr!! This is so frustrating!

Oh Waw that's exciting!!! I got my first positive on a Poundland "3 for £1" test!!!

Vinceypie · 16/12/2020 14:49

I'm not convinced yet as it was SOOOO faint. So faint it could be an evap line. Although the 1st 2 months ttc I tested like a crazy lady morning and night every day from 8dpo and never had an evap line on a one step test before. Who knows? Still no period and I was due yesterday so it is looking promising Smile will get a decent test tomorrow and test again Friday morning if still no AF.

Ooooh how exciting!! My Poundland ones took a bit longer to show positive. Have you got any first responses you could buy? They're pretty good! My clear blue and morrisons were taken 1 day missed period and the first response 2 days after... totally a clear line in that one! Fingers crossed xxxx

Vinceypie · 16/12/2020 16:30

Aunt Flo decided to pop round for a visit... the bitch! On to round 7. Atleast I can have a drink for Christmas though. Thank you ladies for your support. I'll probably be back in a few weeks when I'm symptom spotting again lol

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and the babies behave hehe!

Thanks ladies. For some reason I decided to take another test and it was positive so I suspect it's an early loss 😣 this little bean just wasn't meant to be for some reason. Here's hoping January is my month. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas!! Lots of love x

Hi @Vinceypie for some reason I just thought I wonder how this cycle went for you! Any news at all yet ? 🥰 xx

Katie12867 · 08/08/2021 17:07

Hello, I just wondered if anybody had any advice.
I recently came off the pill trying to conceive I had a period as I came off and obviously never went back on the pill, the following ‘period’ as what I think was a couple of days late and I suffered with cramps and back ache and was only on for 4 days usually it’s a lot longer, anyhow 2 days later I’ve now started with period pains again on and off dull aching and back pain, pulling sensations in my stomach, I’m unsure what this could be. If anyone could help?
Thank you.
