Upset stomach early pregnancy

Hello. I am 5 weeks 4 days pregnant and I was wondering if anyone had any advise on the following..

I have seen everywhere that progesterone and hormones in pregnancy cause constipation. However I am the complete opposite! I am getting really loose stools (sorry), and also stomach cramps occasionally. I don’t think I have picked up a bug as the nausea is allowing me to eat nothing but bread and crackers!

I have had a miscarriage before at 5 weeks and I also had these loose stools so I’m really worrying this is a bad sign.

Has anyone experienced similar??

My first symptom thinking back was a really extreme bout of diarrhea, I have no idea why but think it's linked. I had a successful pregnancy.

This happened to me weeks 5-8 in both pregnancies.

I had this early on in my second pregnancy, it’s normal I think! Lasted a few weeks I think

I had this from 5-8 or 9 weeks in all 3 PG. I thought the same as you as first 2 were MC but 3rd was exactly the same and now 23 wks. I think it's just how some people's bodies respond to the hormone changes and nothing to do with how successful the PG is likely to be. I also had awful stomach cramps this PG. Still do now!

I’m currently 31weeks with my second and this pregnancy from about 5weeks to 12/13 weeks, I had constant bad stomach along with awful cramps. Anything I ate or drank went straight through me and in hindsight, lockdown and shielding was a godsend as I was always at home near the bathroom. My midwife said it was a common symptom and not to worry too much. No miracle cure I’m afraid but let’s hope it goes quickly for you and congratulations

Ah that’s all great to know! Definitely has put my mind at rest! I think after a miscarriage it’s so easy to assume the worst! So glad to hear you all had successful pregnancies too!

Did you find anything to help with the stomach cramps? I have a constant burning feeling in my stomach also!

It's not a sign of miscarriage. I had loose bowels 10x per day until I was 9 weeks. It's hormones.

I've also had miscarriages in the past and it's not a sign. Just morning sickness the other end.

Diarrhoea isn't a symptom of miscarriage, it sounds like it's just a coincidence you had an upset stomach and a miscarriage last time.

In early pregnancy I think you either can't go to the loo or can't get off the loo, I went through stages of both.

When I had a really upset stomach at about 6 or 7 weeks I constantly Googled if it was a sign of miscarriage but it's just normal because of all the hormones
