Early pregnancy rage/low mood

I'm about 5 weeks pregnant with third. 38 and two children aged 6 and 9. 3rd is planned. Since the last week I've been absolutely bursting with rage almost all the time. Actually throwing things angry and not even sure what's making me mad. Feels like the worst kind of PMS but never usually have it this long. When not angry I'm completely exhausted or super negative and anxious. Absolutely everyone is annoying me and feel completely overwhelmed. Feel like I've lost all joy of life in last week which is ridiculous as baby very wanted. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience early pregnancy. Is it hormonal? Likely to pass? What can I do? Arghhhhhhh

Just bit additional info, I didn't feel like this at all with first or second. With first didn't know I was pregnant till eight weeks and felt fab. With second I knew around 4 weeks but didn't have this rage or low mood.

@albairlanda I had super rage for a good couple of weeks from 5-7... took very little to trigger it and felt like I had no control over my temper, and gave no shits about the trail of destruction! Actually quite liberating weirdly!

I'm now approaching week 8 and I now feel queasy and knackered.. no rage... I'd swap this for the rage I think!

albairlanda · 06/12/2020 17:43

Lol I'm leaving so many trails of destruction. Husband is terrified, children are confused but just keeping out of my way as it's so out of character. I'm so glad I'm WFH and not in the office or colleagues would be impacted too. Feeling knackered too, and enormously fat with a belly like I'm 20 weeks. And desperate for red wine and scared to try the 0 alcohol one I bought as it will rage me when it's inevitably shit. Feels so unlike my other two pregnancies when I was so calm and Mother Earth like and just oozing happiness. I feel hope that your rage went away. I hate feeling angry and so I might be chill by Christmas at this rate. Which is good as my father is coming and if anyone can trigger rage!!!

Oh yes. I remember this very well. Here’s the thread that was running when I was pg with DS2. Might give you a laugh www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2095978-Anyone-else-got-pregnancy-rage-and-want-a-moan

My DH stopped me in the middle of B&Q because I was having a minor tantrum over Xmas lights 🙈 it was so unlike me that I did a test the next day and it was positive. He would say that it's never passed since, but in reality it didn't last long!

albairlanda · 06/12/2020 17:58

The 2014 thread is brilliant. I had an absolute tantrum of all tantrums when I was putting up the Christmas tree last week. Absolutely lost my shit all over place with Christmas lights being tangled and cried buckets. Husband was appalled. Kids just quietly judgemental.

😂 I'm not allowed to send unreviewed emails at work anymore.... my boss has been actively avoiding face to face meetings for the last 3 weeks after a particularly psychopath ic rage reaction.. I think I may have said I'd find out where the sender lived and go and teach them some manners ... :/

Freezerbump · 06/12/2020 18:50

@Mamette that thread is genius!

olderthanyouthink · 06/12/2020 19:40

I had a minor tantrum over my watchstrap getting stuck in my coat sleeve DP looked frightened Blush I also kicked the recycling across the room because I knocked it over and stepped on a lid and hurt myself

kim160790 · 06/12/2020 19:45

Omg yes and still at 33+3 but I've loved it as I've said what I've felt for ages against my partners cousin and now she's out of our lives!! Feels good to get it out 😂 x

albairlanda · 06/12/2020 20:20

We've just had dinner delivered and half of it didn't come!!! I took it well. NOT. Still I did open the 0percent non alcoholic cab sav and it's ok so that bottle lives another day without getting smashed up.

I just find it odd that I'm so angry this time around but wasn't the others. Was feeling queasy at this stage with other two also so keep panicking that something is wrong. Prob doesn't help the stressy feeling.

I've found I've had it worse in this pregnancy than my other 3. Only difference in this one is that I'm having my first girl so putting it down to that 😂 xx

albairlanda · 06/12/2020 22:00

Makes sense then. I've a girl and a boy so can't really work it out at all.

I'm similar when on the pill!

Wonder if it's twins....

albairlanda · 07/12/2020 07:16

I'm like that on any kind of contraception like pill or implant. Have always came off them within 2 months. That's what this feels like actually.

OMG @albairlanda I'm so glad I've stumbled across this! I'm 8 weeks with my 3rd and I am either in a complete rage or an emotional, crying wreck...there's no in between either! I feel so overwhelmed with hormones that I can't control and this is so unlike me. I honestly feel like my body has been invaded!!! Hoping it's what @kim160790 says and it's a girl haha!

albairlanda · 07/12/2020 15:14

@AKC88 what is happening to us?!?! Grin

I couldn’t open a small bottle at 7 weeks and absolutely flipped out and threw it at the wall. Dent in wall, bottle smashed, contents everywhere, stained walls.

I’m usually a very mild mannered person and was shocked by the outburst 😂

kim160790 · 07/12/2020 20:59

@AKC88 fingers crossed for you xx
