Pregnancy eczema - not gone away 18 months later

My son is now 18 months and I had a pretty rough pregnancy, but one weird thing that started for the first time in my life when I was pregnant was I got chronic eczema on my hands/fingers. My midwife shrugged it off and said it would go away and it hasn't. I'm just prescribed steroid cream for it constantly but it's agony. It's definitely gotten worse with all the hand sanitiser in shops too, I've gotten dirty looks walking straight past them to go in to Tesco but it just hurts so bloody much to put on. It's all down every finger and on the sides of my hands. I've seen my gp who just gives me the cream but as soon as it's under control it'll flare up again. Has anyone had similar? Did it ever go away? I hate to use this much steroid cream but nothing else touches it.

Sorry you’re dealing with this! Haven’t experienced this with pregnancy but have suffered awfully with it in the past. Steroid creams helped short term but I found Aveeno skin relief cream better than any emollients I was prescribed (the one with the dark blue on the label, I think they do a hand cream too). You have probably tried it already and sorry if it hasn’t helped you but if not it’s worth a try - hope you find some relief either way

Try La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Mains. I used it once for eczema as well and it helped.
