38+2 and feeling different, in a bad way!

I’m 38+2 with my second baby, had a growth scan yesterday as I was measuring small to say he was in the 90th percentile and is looking about 8lb rough estimate, they said he was really low (she could barely get his head measured) and in perfect position for birth, but not much else (are they supposed to keep tight lipped about saying anything about what they think about when you might go into labour so as not to give false hope? I feel like they haven’t said much at any of my appointments other than “all the best”, I don’t even have a birth plan like last time, in fact the haven’t discussed anything about the birth at all 😂) but as soon as I got home I feel like emotionally and physically everything changed! I am so unbelievably ratty, crabbit and weepy, my back and bump are in so much pain and discomfort and have really bad pain and discomfort at the bottom of my belly and underneath... legs are like jelly and I also feel really crampy and sick and just have zero energy 🙅🏻‍♀️ none of this happened last time and I went overdue and was induced so I don’t really know what “going into natural labour” is like, I don’t know what signs to look for as it was all so quick and intense last time!

Can anyone tell me what their typical signs of labour coming on were or if mine sound at all promising? I’m so pessimistic about going naturally and on time because of last time and just feeling a bit deflated and miserable!! 😔

I don't remember any real signs, first time around my waters went with no real warning a week before due date, 2nd I was in and out of hospital for weeks with false labour and was convinced I'd get sent home again when I finally went into proper labour and 3rd was induced. I'm now 39 weeks and been having the same sort of issues, emotional, sick, crampy etc think its just late pregnancy hormones!

I had a growth scan about 10 days ago at 37 weeks and was told head was so low they couldn't even get a measurement. I was convinced he was going to come in the next day or 2...still happily stuck in there now. I've also had also the signs things are about to start happening since but still no sign of labour. Sorry! Went 4 days over with number 1 too so hoping this one would come a little earlier but I'm not going to hold my breath! Fingers crossed for you!

At my 38 week midwife appointment, I was told head wasn't down so expected to go over. Baby made a swift appearance at 39+4. I had no signs until that morning when I had a show. Yours sounds promising that he'll be here sooner rather than later but they tend to just come when they're ready!
