Lindo Wing - adhoc midwifery antenatal care included?

Hoping that someone will have relatively recent experience of the antenatal care offered at the Lindo Wing.

The standard packages offered are all consultant-led and include a midwife booking appointment and then regular consultant appointments (which include urine tests, blood pressure checks etc done by midwives). I’ve been given an emergency number to call (which I imagine is for major issues eg bleeding or significant pain). If I had an adhoc, non emergency query best suited to a midwife eg ‘is it normal to have a slight pain here? I think I might have a urine infection’, etc, and am between consultant appointments, it’s not clear whether I’d be able to book an appointment to see a midwife as part of the standard package or whether this would be charged as an extra.

Does anyone have recent experience? Reviews online from a good few years ago suggest that patients would be able to attend the Lindo Wing’s maternity assessment unit with these types of queries, however I’m not sure if this will have changed.

I will obviously call the Lindo Wing to check directly however it would be really helpful to hear from anyone who has used them in the last couple of years. Many thanks!

(Also, please don’t let this turn into a thread about private care. The NHS is amazing yes however my local hospitals are dire and I have a life threatening medical condition that has had prior treatment at St Mary’s NHS. I’m fortunate to have medical insurance.)

No advise sorry just wanted to say I do hope this doesn’t get negative about your choice to go private. It’s completely your choice!
