Hi everyone, just hoping for some reassurance that I'm not the only one who hasn't felt any movement at this stage! It's my first pregnancy and I'm quite tall- my bump is very small. I haven't felt anything yet and I'm slightly concerned. My 20-week scan is next week so I'm hoping everything will be okay. Anyone else not feel anything at around 20 weeks?

Most first timers don't feel anything until more like 22 weeks so don't worry too much

Let me tell you I never felt my daughter move- not once. People used to say lay in the bath and you will see hands appear but no I never did.
She is 23 today!

Yes, 24 weeks with my first.
Try not to worry.

Thank you all so much, this really helps x

23 weeks for me - and even then I wasn’t totally sure it wasn’t just wind.

Some people don’t feel movements until 24 weeks. Certain things can affect it like position of placenta and position baby is in.

SunnySideUp2020 · 28/11/2020 10:04

Felt nothing distinct until 21 weeks. Went to my 20w scan saying i can't feel a thing so hope baby is ok. now 22 weeks and she is doing all sorts of gymnastics even DH can feel it now.
It literally went from nothing to crazy kicks all day.
And i have anterior placenta...
It will come don't worry.

I definitely didn't feel anything before my 20 week scan, I remember talking about it to the sonographer and crying! 😳 because I was so worried. She told me that is was perfectly normal for a first pregnancy. I think it was more like 22/23 weeks for me before I felt anything.

26 weeks for me!! (But I do have an anterior placenta...)

AegonT · 28/11/2020 17:49

In my first pregnancy I felt movement at 20 weeks just before my scan. Absolutely nothing before that. My placenta was at the front. This time I don't know where my placenta is yet but I've felt movements several times a day since 16 weeks.

I had a popping feeling every day for a few days while in the shower at 17 weeks or so but then nothing at all again until about 21 weeks and to be honest I would say it wasn't obvious until about 24. At the 20 week scan I could see how much it was moving but because it's limbs weren't generally touching anywhere due to the amount of fluid around it, it took time to be able to feel Smile

19+1 and nothing here and no bump, had a meltdown over some other niggles and got checked today and they were able to find the heartbeat but it took forever as baby was properly buried. They kept saying how small they still are at this stage etc so I wouldn't worry (if possible!) Good luck with your scan

You could have a while to wait, I didn't feel anything until around 25 weeks with both pregnancies.
