It's my first baby and I'm super excited but also very nervous and a bit overwhelmed with how much there is to learn and buy for baby. I thought it would be nice if we were all in the same boat and could discuss what worries we have or any bargain finds just anything in general.

Congratulations to you all I'm 13 weeks and 4 days and this is my 12 week scan which I have attached

I have previously posted it for boy/girl guesses based on nub theory and it's currently 15-4 for a boy. No idea how accurate it is. I'm not fussed either way was just a bit of fun

I’m due 30th May 2021. Before they’re born we’re going to try to buy our first 2bed flat (currently staying with family) so I’m totally understanding of all of the extra things needed to buy! Going to hopefully get some 2nd hand stuff too.

PerfectPinecone · 29/11/2020 12:25

Can I join please. I am due 3rd June with first baby. I have a sister and SIL who both have a just two year old so they are going to pass a few bits on to me. I may need help with what car seat and pram to buy Smile

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 29/11/2020 13:03

@xxxIntergalacticxxx @PerfectPinecone congratulations

It's a bit early to buy anything yet but I have been looking at travel systems and found a couple I like on infababy.com they seem to have good reviews. I'll def be waiting a long while before purchasing it though but there does seem to be a good sale on currently

Hiya

I’m due 21st May with my second but feel like I’ve forgotten everything as my daughter is nearly 4. I’m 15+2 today. I have a few bits in the attic but some of it looking a bit tatty so will buy new. I’ve only bought two pairs of little joggers so far 🥰

Congratulations to you all

X

Evey43 · 29/11/2020 13:22

Get on topcashback if you’re buying things online! Xx

PerfectPinecone · 29/11/2020 13:39

Good idea. I would much rather go and test out prams etc before buying but since mothercare has gone I have no idea where would have a good selection. Any ideas welcome.

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 29/11/2020 17:41

@Evey43 congratulations

@PerfectPinecone we have a John Lewis where you can test them out but it's so expensive

OP posts:
PerfectPinecone · 29/11/2020 19:24

Good idea. may have to make a trip to John Lewis. Our closest one is in the middle of town so parking is extortionate but would be worth it to actually see them before we buy

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 30/11/2020 20:53

How's everyone doing today. I've just ordered a couple Of bits to make my OH a Christmas gift from bump (although I don't have a bump yet 😂)

Just got a little baby grow a T-shirt and a dads survival kit

I've been feeling super tired lately and don't have much of an appetite 14 weeks today

I booked a private scan for just before Christmas when I'll be 16+5 I just don't think I can wait until after Christmas I'm quite anxious and just want to check everything is going ok

OP posts:
PerfectPinecone · 30/11/2020 21:29

The gift from bump sounds lovely.

I have been tired the whole pregnancy so far. Hoping it lets up soon as need to get stuff sorted for Xmas.

I have a private scan on 21st dec at 16+4. We booked a 3 scan package when we found out I was pregnant as thought that partners couldn't come to the hospital scans (turns out mine can). I had the first scan at 8+4 and will have the last one in feb/March next year.

Are you going to find out the sex at your scan?

LayingLow · 01/12/2020 02:49

@ThirdTimeLuckyIHope
hellooo I am 15+3, I have a private 16 week scan on Saturday and due on 22nd May! 😊 hows your pregnancy going? X

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 01/12/2020 06:03

@PerfectPinecone yes we are going to find out the gender. We are really struggling with boys names and I'm not one for surprises 😂

Even though we are finding out I'm still going to keep everything neutral. I'm not a big fan of pink but I do like yellows

I've had a couple of early scans too I've had two losses this year which has made me worry about every little twinge but so far so good

@LayingLow so far it's been a bumpy ride with UTI's, cramps and nausea but I'm hoping now that I'm getting more in to the second trimester it will start easing off

Is anyone else finding out the gender or am I just super impatient?

OP posts:
PerfectPinecone · 01/12/2020 07:32

Sorry to hear of your losses. This is my very first pregnancy so I am worried about every little thing.

We will be finding out the gender. Same as you I'm not good with surprises and we are struggling for girls names.

LayingLow · 01/12/2020 07:50

@ThirdTimeLuckyIHope Aw yes hopefully all that starts to go now! I only had nause from 6-10 weeks with this pregnancy so I was soooo happy.. I am finding out the gender on Saturday at the private scan I am also so impatient even though I'm pretty sure its a girl x

PerfectPinecone · 01/12/2020 10:27

@LayingLow
Good luck with your scan. Let us know how it goes 🙂

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 01/12/2020 10:33

@LayingLow not long to wait now let us know how you get in

I can't wait to have another scan or even my midwife appointment I just feel a bit in limbo at the moment no bump no flutters just waiting......

Trinpy · 01/12/2020 11:01

Can I join? I'm due 19th May. Baby no3 and also my 3rd boy Smile.

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 01/12/2020 12:27

@Trinpy congratulations 🎉 🥳

I’m so happy I’m not the only one who wants a private scan before Christmas! Was also going to get a gender scan as that’s the cheapest one the clinic offers. No issues currently but I just wanted to check all was OK. Had 13 week Nuchal scan not long ago which went well, but since then I’ve had less nausea and naturally I’m concerned as that’s a change. I know it’s due to going into 2nd trimester, but I sort of want evidence that all is still fine!

Evey43 · 01/12/2020 17:34

I have a midwife apt Thursday and am hoping I’ll get to hear the heartbeat. I am so tempted to book a private gender scan and surprise grandparents on Christmas Day. My 20 week scan will be beginning January. But DH is being a bit of a penny pincher and doesn’t see the point of we only need to wait another month! I may just book it anyway 😬

Hope you are doing well xx

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 01/12/2020 18:14

@xxxIntergalacticxxx I'm the same I really need some X-ray vision to see what's going on in there 😂 I had some really bad cramps last week which the doctor tells me is nothing to worry about but that's easy for her to say 🙄

@Evey43 I think you should book it and tell your OH it's a Christmas present for him 😂😂

My midwife appointment is 2 weeks today hopefully sorting things for Christmas will take my mind of the wait for a bit

OP posts:
PerfectPinecone · 01/12/2020 21:52

@xxxIntergalacticxxx I feel exactly the same. Definitely feel like I need the extra scan.

@Evey43 I would just book the scan and surprise your husband

My midwife appointment isn't until Xmas eve.

I took a side profile picture and looks like baby (uterus) has popped out compared to my before picture so I guess that is a good sign. I know it's not actually the baby yet but makes it feel more real. Have any of you taken any 'bump' pics yet?

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 01/12/2020 22:59

@PerfectPinecone I probably should of taken a before shot it's hard to tell when you see your self all the time

I can't tell if it's my uterus or lockdown food 😂

OP posts:
PerfectPinecone · 02/12/2020 08:09

Definitely take a pic now so you can see comparison along the way. I bet it is uterus more than lockdown food 👍

Trinpy · 02/12/2020 13:05

It probably is the start of a little baby bump! Doesn't your uterus appear up from behind your pelvic bone at around 12 weeks? So it's the right time for a bump to start showing!

I've got a noticeable bump now and I still haven't told everyone I'm pregnant so its getting trickier to hide it! I had to pop into work this morning for the first time in months and managed to get away with lots of floaty layers!

I was planning on having a gender scan at 16 weeks but I ended up finding out the sex at 14 weeks anyway. Definitely worth the money imo as it's a nice early Christmas present for everyone and you can pick up some cheap baby clothes on the January sales Wink.

I had my 16 week mw appointment yesterday and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Seems very weird that I'm not going to see the mw again until 28 weeks!!!
