Puppp not sleeping bc of the itch

Any advice for my amazing friend who just gave birth?
So far nothing is helping her and rash seems to spreading. Feel so bad for her she is a first time mum, can't sleep bc of the itch and is exhausted - hence my writing the post on her behalf.
She is in the US if that's relevant for recommendations of products.
Anyone with any suggestions?

What’s the rash? Surely she needs to see a doctor and they can prescribe something appropriate?

Pinkypink · 27/11/2020 06:49

She's seen Dr. Was given steroid cream and anti hystamine.
Still very itchy though.
Have told her to go back. But diff to get appointments bc of covid. She has a dermatologist appointment in a month.
Was hoping for tips that can ease the itch in the meantime.
The medicine will clear it up but obv takes time...

Oatmeal water bath? Apparently works with chickenpox. No idea if it would work here, but worth a shot perhaps. Maybe apply breastmilk- generally recommended for everything from conjunctivitis to mild injury and quite plentiful after birth. I'm just making these up, but you never know. Lavender oil in bath? Do ask someone who know what they're doing first though before she tries that.

I don't know about pupp but for my eczema, Epsom salt baths helped a treat at clearing it up.

P.s I've never had a baby so not sure if Epsom salts are safe for women after birth or breastfeeding.

Thanks. She tried breast milk with no obv results.
Will suggest the other stuff and agree that she should check first.
Thanks

Calamine lotion?
Would have to check safety though.

Great idea.
Thanks will pass on

I've had it really bad this pregnancy. The only thing that has helped is nivea aloe Vera after sun. Really eases the itch. All the oils (bio etc) just made it more aggressive .
Mine has been so bad it's been waking me up so I feel for your friend xxx

@tigertreats so sorry. It really sounds horrible. Hope you're clears up ASAP.
