Hey everyone,

I am currently 9 weeks + 3 and my nausea started around 5/6 weeks and just keeps getting worse!

I have a horrible feeling in my mouth constantly, don't want to eat anything, constantly feel sick but I haven't been sick once!

Has anyone got anything that helped them? It's draining me and I'm struggling to work 🙈

Thank you
Xxx

Try sea sickness bands, they help a bit.

Breadsticks! As long as I was eating one I was ok. Anything plain and dry like that I found helped. Also 7up I found to be soothing.

Cheerios and blue Doritos helped me.

Rich tea biscuits worked in my first pregnancy and full sugar lemonade in my second

Medication was the only thing that helped me, I couldn't function constantly feeling sick on this 3rd pregnancy. Cyclizine worked for me. Took it from 10-18 weeks ish. Speak to your GP.

raspberryjamlove · 26/11/2020 09:24

I second cyclizine and whatever you fancy to eat or drink in my case sipping cold coke through a straw. Not healthy but gets me through the worst days! X

Eating little and often helps me. I’ll snack on a cracker or ginger biscuit. When out I’ll have mint chewing gum or suck a boiled sweet.

@Meadow123 hey, I'm nearly 9 weeks and for two weeks my sickness has been unbearable, absolutely nothing helps and I have tried everything!!! I bit the bullet today and spoke to docs and have been prescribe cyclizine, for those on here who took it how did you find it x

EIRA3 · 26/11/2020 17:17

I had no issues with cyclizine, I was prescribed 2 tablets a day - morning and evening and it worked Smile I went down to one around 16 weeks and just stopped taking them week or two after and the sickness had gone, this was during lockdown and I'm a nurse I had to work and they helped so much! You can take up to 3 a day if needed! However the nausea has made a come back at 36 weeks but not as bad!
This is my 3rd pregnancy if I'd have known about them before I would have taken them in previous pregnancies too!

copperoliver · 26/11/2020 17:21

Ginger nut biscuits x

FTMF30 · 26/11/2020 17:25

Dry crackers or rich teas helped me x

Mrsmummy90 · 26/11/2020 17:30

The things the helped me were:

  • travel sickness bands
  • never let myself get hungry. Dh would bring up some toast as soon as I woke up lol.
  • never gulp water - small sips only

Hope that helps xx

Grumpasaurus · 26/11/2020 17:42

Cyclizine worked well for me. I had awful nausea and then sickness.

I kept crackers beside the bed and ate them as soon as I woke up, before I really even sat up. I tried to eat a cracker or two every 30 - 60 minutes.

I basically lived on plain bagels, plain cream cheese, and flat coke or lemonade.

It's fucking awful and all you can do is survive it!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 26/11/2020 17:45

When at home I found sucking small ice cubes helped.

Anniemabel · 26/11/2020 17:45

I’ve tried various medications including cyclizine and none of them really worked. I’m managing to eat toast and marmite which gives me some relief.

Brot64 · 26/11/2020 17:48

Ginger biscuits or anything with ginger even tea and ice cubes. There some ginger chew sweets in H&B that also seemed to work for me.

anniebu · 26/11/2020 17:59

Classic Cola

Lillygolightly · 26/11/2020 18:03

Butter mints helped me, there are like a boiled sweet and are mildly minty but sweet. The mint flavour got rid of the horrible metallic taste and I think the sugar helped me keep going. I used to suck on one of these every morning when I couldn’t bear the smell of food let alone cook anything to eat. I always carried them with me and popped one in my mouth at even a hint of nausea and most of the time they stopped me actually being sick.

angel0071987 · 26/11/2020 19:45

Fizzy water small sips.

HappyDaze90 · 26/11/2020 19:47

The only thing that helped me was ice lollies. The plainest ones I could find.

Hope you feel better soon 💕
