Booking appt - who is your support?

At my booking in appointment I was asked who I have in my life that I can rely on for support. They asked if my parents will support me and I dithered and ummed and said yes. The fact is, my parents are the opposite of support - they are the biggest drain in my life, but it is too complicated and embarrassing to explain so when pushed I just said yes. How will the midwives use the answer that I gave them?

They’re probably just trying to assess whether you might need additional mental health support during your pregnancy, or extra contact with your midwife. Try not to worry too much. And congratulations on your pregnancy 😊

The only time it's been brought up again in my apps is how I'm going to be making my way to the midwife unit when the time comes, this wasn't until I think the 36 week app. Congratulations on your pregnancy 🎉
