EARLY SCAN DATING ISSUE AND NO HB HELP

Hi All,
This may seem like a strange post but here goes...
I had an early scan today. By my period I should be 5+4 as I had spotting. After the scan she could see the sack and yolk (all good) and then she saw a fetal pole that puts me at 6+4 so a whole week ahead!
But that fetal pole had no heartbeat...
I am so confused. How could I have ovulated 7 days after my period started? I did cycle tracking and opks that all suggest I ovulated with a temp rise on cycle day 14 not cycle day 7. I have regular periods and have never ovulated on cycle day 7.
They are scanning me again next week. Any help or opinions would be very much appreciated. Xx

Try not to worry to much when ur that early dates will go up and down as baby is soooo small very hard to measure and see a hb when u have ur dating scan at 12 weeks ish they will give you a more realistic due date, I had a early scan and put baby smaller than what I thought when I got scanned again dates made more sense x

As pp said, also it’s still a bit early to see heartbeat

Thank you ladies. It's the dates that are confusing me! I know of dates being lower than they should be, but mine was a week ahead. I think maybe the sonographer measured it slightly wrong today but who knows. Xx

Firstly, no worry about HB - it's too early.

Shes estimating at 6 weeks ish because that's usually when you have a pole and sac, but it could be that your body just made those things fast! The dates jump about a LOT in early pregnancy as everyone's pregnancies have different developments.

I know its anxiety provoking but you'll have to wait and see next week. Can I ask why they scanned you so early? The nhs usually wont agree to even look that early!

I had a private scan at what I thought was 9+3, I was 8+6 and they gave me a different EDD to what I thought initially. Had my 12 weeks NHS scan and measured 4 or 5 days ahead of what the private sonographer told me, so back to the EDD that I initially thought.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're measurements may be inaccurate and you will be given a better idea at your 12 week scan.

Was the scan private? To be honest if it was, they really are just a money making scheme, they make lots out of anxious mums like myself and I'm not convinced I would go for an early scan in future pregnancies as, at such a early stage, it's very hard to tell and give accurate information.

Just as others have said OP.

The EPU here will NOT scan you until at the very least 7 weeks, preferably 8. There is good reason for that. I mean that to include even if spotting, pain, etc. I have been there many times.
