If you got pregnant not long after your first did you go into labour early?

DS was 8 months (almost 9) old when I got pregnant with my current pregnancy (21 weeks tomorrow). I read somewhere online that you’re more likely to go into labour earlier if you have a close age gap so I’m just wondering if that was the case for anyone.

2 weeks early, so not premature but I was glad I didn't have to endure the last couple of weeks of feeling like a beached whale.

I have exactly the same age gap as you, and no, my second arrived 3 days late (but it was a very straightforward, quick labour)

DC1 was 8 months old when I conceived DC2. DC2 was ten days overdue when I went into labour.

That’s good to know. This baby is due at the end of March and I’m hoping to keep her in as long as possible in the hope that she’ll have nice warm birthdays. March can be so hit and miss with the weather

Did you find you had a bigger bump with the baby that followed close after? With DS1 and DS2 I had very small bumps throughout (big babies just small bumps). This time my bump is huge and I wondered if my muscles just haven’t gone back to what they were post baby ?

No and I’ve never heard that.

My bump with DC2 was bigger earlier, but by 30+ weeks I was smaller than before, but DC2 was a pound smaller than DC1 (not related to birth order - DC1 has all the tall genes and DC2 has all the short ones).

DC2 did pretty much fall out though, I don’t think there were any muscles holding him back down there! Compared to a long labour DC1.

I have gaps of 13, 14 and 15 months. No 'second' ones were early!!
In fact one was a week late!!

Nope. Pregnant with baby two three months after baby one born. Still went to term. Both born in June.
