I am hoping I am worrying for absolutely no reason, but I am 19 weeks 3days pregnant and other than a belly I have little to no symptoms. I keep being told that I am lucky and so far in my first scan everything looked good and healthy so have all my results so far. I just keep reading that at this stage I will have bigger breasts, sensitive nipples, leg cramps and probably starting to feel the baby kick. So far I have had none of these, is this normal or should I worry? I have also not had any of the symptoms that they tell you to worry about ( bleeding etc.). I have my 20 week scan in just over a week but I am honestly losing sleep over it!

I had no symptoms at 19 weeks, I think that's pretty normal (first 12 weeks tend to be worst - I was throwing up until 15 weeks but nothing at all after that) I probably didn't feel the baby move until about 22 weeks and then not much until I was probably about 30 weeks

Good luck for your scan, I know it's an anxiety provoking time

SJR86 · 17/11/2020 09:27

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I didn't feel my baby move until about 24weeks and like you had no pregnancy symptoms which can be really anxiety provoking - our little one is now 8 weeks.

I actually found the time between the 12 and 20 week scans the worst and found it really hard to get excited.
It might be that your placenta is positioned so it is cushioning any movements/kicks, ask at your next scan they should be able to tell you (mine was high up at the front which masked a lot of the kicks!)

We were lucky that my midwife appointments were still face to face during the first lockdown so I asked to hear the heartbeat at each one which was hugely reassuring!
Good luck for your scan Thanks

Thank you both so much, this is really reassuring. everything I have read an a lot of forums I have been on, everyone seems to be starting to feel kicks by now so it is really reassuring to know I am not the only one that does not and also doesn't have symptoms.

Thank you for your well wishes

I didn’t even realise I was pregnant with DD1 until I was about two months gone. I’d not felt her move until well in to month five - convinced it was the hot Cypress sun that finally woke her because she didn’t stop somersaulting all holiday! Then no ‘symptoms’ at all pretty much all the way through. I kept asking work if I could stay a bit longer as I was feeling absolutely fine, worked past my due date. Just got lucky - paid for it with DD2 pregnancy though 😂

Turtleturtle81 · 17/11/2020 09:32

Totally normal. I had no symptoms at 19 weeks. I didn’t have many symptoms at all until around 25 weeks when I started to get heartburn. I haven’t had any of the other symptoms listed in all the baby websites. I’m 36 weeks now and still don’t have most of the stuff people commonly talk about. My breasts are the same size they have always been and are not sore. I also don’t have any swelling. Everyone is different. I didn’t feel movement until 24 weeks.

Sarahjj86 · 17/11/2020 09:36

Thank you so much , this is so reassuring

5th here 😬 with my 1st I didn't feel anything notable and no kicking until 24weeks at least, no leaking nipples, cramps or anything like that. I felt a bit off occasionally but no puking or symptoms that I can remember. I'm extremely lucky in that I've never had sickness enough to puke whilst pregnant. I felt movement much earlier with subsequent pregnancies (much earlier with this one, probably because my insides are all loose and knackered now 😄) I'm 32 weeks and have only just been getting leg cramps, boobs only sensitive and sore a few weeks ago but that's gone now 🤞 it's only in last couple of pregnancies I've realised that early on, what I thought was processing going on inside was most likely baby floating around and wriggling, it's difficult to recognise what's what!

Sarahjj86 · 17/11/2020 13:13

Honestly, thank you all so much, this has really put my mind at ease, you don't know how worried I was. I will always worry a little (natural born over thinker here). But you really have all helped so much . Thank you again.

I'm Having twins and other than a massive bump I didn't feel anything - strain on body did kick in about 18 weeks with the bump feeling sore if I walked too far but if I was having a single baby I wouldn't have felt this

Echobelly · 17/11/2020 13:20

I didn't show much until about 16 weeks and had very few symptoms. You may have felt something without knowing what it was - I definitely was more sensitive to movement second time around.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/11/2020 15:01

I think the normal window for feeling something for a first timer is about 20-24 weeks? Also depends on where your placenta is.

My mum has had 2 symptomless pregnancies (apart from the bump and no period) and I'm 12 weeks and have had v v little (some boob swelling, a little tired... and that's it)

JemimaTiggywinkle · 17/11/2020 15:04

I’m 20 weeks and have only started to feel very small movements in the last week or so.

Not long to go till your scan, and then hopefully it won’t be long till you start feeling movements.

110APiccadilly · 17/11/2020 15:08

I didn't have any of those at 19 weeks. I'm 37 weeks now, baby is doing fine (just waiting for them to make their appearance) but actually I still don't feel kicks as much as some of my friends did - I think it's just about baby's position and where the placenta is. I knew someone who went into hospital with stomach pain and came out with an unexpected baby, so she can't have been feeling much in the way of kicks, and her baby was absolutely fine.

bumpyknuckles · 17/11/2020 15:15

Perfectly normal. I didn't feel any movements until well after my 20 week scan. Never had morning sickness or any other early pregnancy symptoms either. If I hadn't been trying for a baby I think I wouldn't have noticed I was pregnant until I started to get a bump!

User415373 · 17/11/2020 15:25

I feel exactly like you. I'm 18 weeks and have no bump whatsoever, either. Sore breast have gone as have early sickness/headaches etc. Had my 16 week late last week though and everything was fine!
Can't wait to feel some movement!

LeslieYep · 17/11/2020 15:27

First pregnancy was suspiciously quiet.
Bit of nausea pre 10 weeks then nothing apart from really liking pork pies.

DD started kicking around 22-23 weeks and that's when I knew I hadn't dreamed everything!

My boobs didn't get big/sore, I had no bleeding, no cramps and nobody knew I was pregnant by looking at me until about 7 months.

Good luck!

SunnySideUp2020 · 17/11/2020 17:10

I was in your position until today!
Don't have any symptoms apart from a rounder belly.
I can't feel baby move at all.
So i am basically a bloated person.
My 20w scan was today and she is all good apparently. My anterior placenta is cushioning kicks...
I don't feel any more pregnant than i felt yesterday but i know for sure she is doing well and growing!
But like you i was so anxious, losing sleep over it and obsessing during the day. Having the most horrible scenarios playing out in my head all the time.
I am sure, like me, that you little baby is doing just fine and we are (maybe?) Lucky to feel so normal!?

Rachelwxox · 20/11/2020 17:12

Hi Sarah,
I could have actually written that message myself! I'm 19+2 weeks and I feel absolutely fine, no symptoms at all other than my nipples being a tiny bit sensitive.
Everything was fine at my 12 weeks scan then at my 16 week appointment I made the mistake of asking the midwife to try and find the heartbeat with a doppler and she couldn't find it (she obviously explained that she may not be able to but after having an early miscarriage I was just looking for reassurance).... still as we do i freaked even though she told me not to worry and booked a private scan at 17+2 and there she was wriggling away, so much so the lady had to chase her a bit to find it the sex and I couldn't feel a thing and still can't now.
I found out at my scan I had an anterior placenta (placenta at the front which acts like a cushion) she said to me it may be much later for me to be able to feel any movement. I'm sure It won't be too long for us. Congratulations honey.. you will definitely cry at your scan like I did, its crazy how much we worry I've got a scan again next week and I'm worried for that again already because of your exact reason even though 2 weeks ago everything was fine! What are we like!? Smile

Sarahjj86 · 26/11/2020 10:37

Thank you all so much for all your kind words and sharing your stories, it definitely helped calm my mind a bit. Still found myself stressing constantly.
Good news though, I had my 20 week scan yesterday, all is happy, all is healthy and we are having a little girl! Couldn't be happier.
Thank you all again. This is a tough time not to be around family so all of you helped me keep a little bit calmer during what was a really anxious time for a constant over thinker like myself

I was the same OP. Never had very much in the way of symptoms ever, particularly in the second trimester. And I didn’t feel kicks until about 22 weeks. Now nearly 38 weeks and the baby is kicking away happily!

SunnySideUp2020 · 26/11/2020 11:57

@Sarahjj86 great!!! Congrats !!

Fedupalways · 26/11/2020 11:59

What a lovely update. Congratulations on your little girl.
I had no symptoms what so ever through out my whole pregnancy. My boobs also didn't get larger. I skipped all of that apparently! Grin

ItsStartingToFeelLikeChristmas · 26/11/2020 12:05

I'm 21+3 baby number 2 and only started for feel movements in the last week or so.

Sarahjj86 · 26/11/2020 13:18

Thank you all! So excited now, even more so because I had a good night sleep last night! I intend to enjoy that aspect whilst I can
