Hi, I am 26weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. On Thursday I woke up with a bleed and some mild period like cramps. I went in to the hospital to get a check up ( a cervix check etc,)and was told everything seems to be as it should, no sign of active bleeding and the bleeding could possibly just be my body telling me I'm overworking and I should just go home and take it easy. It's been 5days, the bleeding had completely stopped by the next morning but the period like cramps and dull lower back ache are still on and off throughout the day. (The pains usually start when I do the school run and that's only a 5minute walk away) is this normal at 26weeks or should I be concerned?

Hi @AshDre. I didn’t have the bleeding when I was pregnant with DD. However from around 20 weeks I got regular cramps and backache. The midwife advised that it was likely that I had round ligament pain which is quite common supposedly. If you are worried then nothing wrong with placing a call to your midwife just to be on the safe side.

@bubblybrit Thank you for your reply. You have eased my mind slightly haha, I had ligament pains with my first two pregnancies but the current back ache I'm feeling is dull and feels a lot like the pain I had when in early stages of labour with my first two. I will be sure to call midwife tomorrow to be on the safe side but I was just wondering if that type of pain could happen at any stage of pregnancy and not just in the labour stages🙂

@AshDre. Yes best to check with the midwife but I’d say that it was fairly common. I’m pregnant with my second (only 7 weeks though) and I have already had full back pain! Mine just gets worse the bigger I get haha xx
