HCG level, is it bad news?

Hi everyone

I got my bfp on a CB digi on Friday 6th Nov and got 2-3 weeks. Then I had my bloods done on the 9th Nov which showed my HCG level at 924. I stupidly did my last CB digi yesterday (14 Nov) and it still showed 2-3! My HCG level should have been well over 5000, I know when I ovulated which was 16th Oct and this also matched perfectly with HCG doubling every 48 hours. The threshold for 3weeks+ is 2753 and over so I definitely should have seen this result!

I'm really worrying that something is wrong now! I know I shouldn't have tested again but I was scared and trying to put my mind at rest now it's made my anxiety even worse! Any experiences or advice welcome

Those week indicator tests are crap, some people never get 3+ even though they have a healthy pregnancy

Littlebee1990 · 15/11/2020 22:17

Yup I second what @Oneandabean says with a little 14 week bump.. mine never went over 2/3 weeks, stopped using them as read SOOO many threads saying the same

Thankyou both that's reassuring! It's so easy to panic over these things. I'm not going to test anymore!

Sorry to be the dissenter but clearblue digital with weeks have accurately predicted 5 of my miscarriages especially when it's taken too long to get a 3+ based on doubling what you know is a confirmed hcg level

It can happen that some people's urine hcg level never gets that high compared to their blood levels or the hcg is so high that it throws the test off but in 9 pregnancies - 7 being miscarriages/ectopics ive never had that

Fingers crossed though that maybe this is just an inaccurate test

I always have really dilute wee (sorry for TMI) so the weeks tests don’t work for me. If you are concerned, ask your GP to run bloods again. HCG levels vary so much, it’s hard to say what’s normal or not. Best of luck

Meomeomeo · 16/11/2020 08:33

HCG doesn’t double at a constant rate. Approximately every 48-72 hrs. There are so many factors, your pee could be diluted, etc. I wouldn’t worry about CBD not showing 3+. As long as you feel fine, no excessive bleeding then it’s ok

I'm 21 weeks pregnant now and I never ever got a 3+ on a clear blue.

I’ve just phoned the GP and the receptionist said they had no appointments as they were needed for sick people so now I just feel stupid!

I’m just scared of it being a MMC but hopefully everything is ok. I will know on Saturday as I’ve paid for a private scan I should be 7weeks there’s no way I could wait until 12 feeling like this!

Urine hcg is never going to be as high as blood serum
