Any tips/remedies for early pregnancy sickness ?

Hi all,

I had mild nausea so far so it was very manageable and I could still eat and socialize with my partner and sister etc... today has been horrendous. Nausea has been so severe I could barely eat, and I threw up 5 times in total today (4 times this morning with an empty stomach, and once this evening just after eating some plain rice).

Now, I’m not sure if it’s pregnancy sickness or if it’s an actual stomach flu, but does any of you have a miracle remedy or something? So fed up LOL

Thank you 🙏🏻

Don't suffer in silence! I got so bad in my first pregnancy I ended up throwing up blood, if it gets unmanageable then go to your GP and ask for medication.

I second @KylieKangaroo! I was the same horrible sickness and ended up in hospital. Definitely go to your doctors if it’s not getting better.

However I did find, rest and sleep helped me feel better. If I over did it (just pretending to be normal) I had to have a day of rest afterwards.

When you wake in the morning don’t even sit up, can you keep some crackers next to the bed and try to eat one or two before sitting up.

Also if it stays bad, eat what you fancy and don’t worry about nutrition. I had a craving for Burger King which I normally hate (must have been something about the iron and salt)

Thank you, I will wait till tomorrow morning and if it doesn’t get any better I will call the doctor.

Ginger biscuits! Regularly. And travel bands, the ones from boots I got. Make sure they're on right and they're fab.

Hi all, just a quick update, I woke up feeling much better this morning. Back to mild nausea only 😌 not sure what happened yesterday, must’ve been a peak of hormones or just a stomach flu 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for all the tips, I will be trying them all xx

Polos! Got me through two pregnancies. Take it when you get that horrible nauseous excess saliva am I going to be sick feeling. Works a treat! (Peppermint apparently is an actual thing, plus I think the sugar helps)

I had terrible nausea in the first trimester and water with lemon juice helped, as well as sour sweets

Hi all, sorry me again, it’s like every day I get something new happening!

I’m sorry this won’t be glam, but I spent the night and morning today passing gas, on top of being nauseated still. Is this common and is it linked to early pregnancy too ?

Very common. Are you (sorry) constipated too? I found a daily half glass of prune juice kept me regular and less gassy! (It is disgusting though -hold your nose.)
