I thought I’d had my BFP (several of them) and all was good. 4 positive FRER and two boots own brand over Tuesday/Wednesday.

But being the anxious person I am I’ve continued to test, and today had a very faint CB early and a negative Tesco. What is this?! I’m not bleeding or anything. Am I still pregnant?

When was your period due? A discrepancy in results on different tests could be down to testing very early, as some are more sensitive than others.

Thanks for the reply @RestorationInsanity
AF was due around a day or two ago, it can vary by a few days and didn’t confirm ov exactly.
Is it likely I’d have a positive (several) then entirely negative though?

Normally, if you'd had one positive, and stopped testing, a GP or midwife would take that as confirmation you are pregnant if you have no symptoms of miscarriage such as bleeding etc. It's really impossible to know if the negative tests are just less sensitive or if it's a sign that you will go on to miscarry and your hormone levels are decreasing. As it's very early days it is possible that some tests just won't pick up the levels of HCG in your urine yet whereas others can. Although it's stressful, if you have no other symptoms to cause concern I'd wait a few days or a week, and test again.

Thanks. I know it’s a bit of wait and see but I thought i was done with the waiting bit.

Anyone else had this before? I’m losing the plot with worry!

Wait till tomorrow and do a test with your first wee of the day. Also, speak with your GP surgery. The nurse or doctor there may be able to advise what to do

AngelasLastEgg · 13/11/2020 14:18

How many DPO are you?

serialplanner · 13/11/2020 14:20

Try the TTC board as people are full of helpful knowledge. Tesco might be a pants brand for pregnancy tests?!

I had a faint on FRER the day my period was due and a clear blue "pregnant" the next day if that is any help at all!

AngelasLastEgg · 13/11/2020 14:21

Don’t freak out OP as I’m speaking from experience and may not be the case for you at all but this did happen to me when I had a chemical pregnancy. Initially positive tests at 12DPO, some faint and some much clearer, i didn’t see any line fades as I stopped testing but unfortunately bled 6 days after my AF would have been due, and very quickly got a negative after that.

In your case I’d play a waiting game, believe me I know how hard that is, and do another test in 48 hours.

LizzyB03 · 13/11/2020 15:20

Thanks everyone.
I have a telephone appt with my gp in an hour as I’m concerned lowering hormones and remaining symptoms could be something worrying. Am I being stupid to think this suggests lowering hormones?

OP posts:
AngelasLastEgg · 13/11/2020 15:27

It’s not stupid no OP but it certainly doesn’t mean a threat to your health at this point, have you been googling ectopic? That’s always a horrible possibility but I wouldn’t jump straight to that, even a small amount of hormones can cause pregnancy symptoms and even in a chemical these take time to go down.

LizzyB03 · 13/11/2020 17:26

Unfortunately the GP was particularly unhelpful. Just basically told me that this is the unfortunate peril of being able to test early and I’ll have to wait and see. She said take another test in a week, in the meantime I’d only need to seek medical care if in a lot of pain.
So I wait then. Easy peasy, right...!

It’s frustrating OP but what she said was to be entirely expected at this stage, it really is a waiting game Flowers

MrsG30 · 13/11/2020 18:03

It unfortunately is just a waiting game and the price paid for being able to test early nowadays sadly 😔 in our parents days they wouldn’t know they were pregnant until one or two missed periods (as my mum loves to remind me!)

The wait is so hard, try and have lots of little tasks lined up to keep your mind off the wait Flowers

RestorationInsanity · 13/11/2020 21:49

I'm sorry OP but I've found pregnancy to be one long waiting game. Waiting for appts, waiting for scans, waiting to hit milestones. I'm 37 weeks and it's just waiting for signs that labour is happening. Unfortunately until you get much further along, there's very little anyone can do to ease your anxiety and it's a good idea to try and find some coping mechanisms now so you don't spend the whole pregnancy feeling this way.

Bigpaintinglittlepainting · 13/11/2020 21:53

Unfortunately it sounds like a chemical pregnancy, I had a few the last time I had dc. I had about three before my last dc, it’s really horrible and takes up so much of your head. I can only sympathise Flowers
