Symptoms fading - 9 weeks pregnant

I'm 9 weeks 5 days pregnant with our first and have been feeling nauseous everyday since 6 weeks with a 4 day break at 7weeks 4days although this morning I've woke up and feel pretty much my normal self. I am more tired than usual and my nipples are still sore/sensitive - the tiredness might be because I was waking up in the night due to hunger pangs but other than that my symptoms have pretty much eased. I booked a private scan the last time my symptoms stopped out of worry and all seemed fine other than baby was measuring 5 days behind but other than that the scan shown a heartbeat of 130bpm.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated as I'm a massive worrier and have read a lot of sad stories on here surrounding symptoms fading especially around the 10 week mark 😢

I know that at some point towards the end of the first trimester your placenta takes over and the symptoms can lessen - so might be that! Easy to panic and then a day later you have morning sickness again!

Give it a bit longer and if you are still worried maybe think about having a scan (private or epu) to put your mind at rest

What I do know is that no two pregnancies are the same even for the same woman, so any experience I have may not be valid for you so be a bit patient and wait a day or so before you decide what to do x

This happened to me, I'm 29 weeks pregnant now Smile

ShalomToYouJackie · 11/11/2020 11:05

Completely normal - the placenta takes over about now and symptoms will settle. I freaked out too. Enjoy it :)

Ahh thank you for your lovely comments, it's nice to feel reassured. I think I will definitely go for another private scan if I'm still worried in the next couple of days or so. I was reading about the placenta taking over too so I hope that this is what it is! 😊

Congratulations on your pregnancy @Mumof3almost4! How is it going for you?

@America5 all is well thank you! I remember being worried at the time too but it wasn't long till sickness and lethargy appeared.
Hope everything goes well for you

America5 · 11/11/2020 13:08

Ah that's brilliant I'm so glad & oh I'm sure in a few days just like before they'll come back, it's just the initial panic of what if somethings wrong! Thank you Thanks

It happened to me because I went on holiday in week 9 and wasn't facing commuting and work stress and was able to rest enough. I was panicked and had a scan when I came home which was fine. Shes a toddler now...

Ele38 · 11/11/2020 14:17

Please try not to worry I had absolutely no symptoms at all, if I hadn't had taken a test I wouldn't have guessed I was pregnant. X

America5 · 11/11/2020 14:52

@Ele38 wow really, how far along are you now? Tbh I didn't have many symptoms before testing but they hit me the next day 😂

My symptoms vanished around 6 weeks for about 10 days, tiredness is now back with a vengeance but very little nausea.
I was reassured it’s all perfectly normal x

madeinthe80z · 11/11/2020 15:26

Completely normal. I remember the horrific nausea and not being able to move most days and wishing it would go away. And then it did, maybe one day a week or every other week and it would terrify me...but it came back with a vengeance the next day 😂🤮 try not to worry xx

America5 · 11/11/2020 15:30

It's honestly such a relief to hear your reassuring stories and to not feel alone in this! I hope your pregnancies are running smoothly and that you aren't too nauseous, it really is a horrible feeling. I keep wishing it away but then I'm terrified when it actually does! I think the placenta starts to pick a lot up now so hopefully that's why it's subsided slightly!

@america5 the nausea is the worst isnt it! and mine didn't go away until 16 weeks unfortunately 😭 except for the odd day like I said when I ended up wishing it back 🙉

America5 · 11/11/2020 16:00

It really is @madeinthe80z and oh I know I'm doing the same right now!

Did anyone ever get a stitch type pain in there lower abdomen? As I seem to get them on and off and presume it's just stretching & growing? 🤰🏻

I had my beautiful baby girl 2 weeks ago

SamoyedFan123 · 09/12/2020 21:01

@america5 - I know this post is a few weeks old now but I was wondering how you're doing now as I'm in a similar boat and came across it when searching MN for help. I'm 9+4 and have started feeling much better today which obviously has me worried, and on top of that I've been having the stitch like pain you mentioned in your last post. I'd love to hear that all was well with you xxx

America5 · 09/12/2020 21:16

@SamoyedFan123 hey! I'm currently 12+3 and all is fine, my scans I've had private (due to worry) and nhs have all been fine and shown no issues to my relief! My symptoms did come back with a vengeance but were up and down and still are! I've started to feel much better again at the moment but fingers crossed I'm coming out of that phase now! I also still get the stitch type pain but can only presume these are growing pains. I hope you're ok, pregnancy is full of worry and there's always something I'm wondering if it's okay and if baby is doing ok, it's hard when you can't feel them moving. Sending lots of love and support your way - hope I've reassured you somewhat ❤️❤️❤️

@America5 thank you so much for replying! Yes, you have made me feel much better about things 😊 I'm so glad everything is going well with you - its much easier to relax after that 12 week scan! My lady pregnancy was a twin pregnancy and this is very different, symptoms much more up and down, but today my nausea has been very mild or even non - existent at times which is very strange after feeling so sick for the last 6 weeks. I did have a scan a week ago which was fine so 🤞all is still well. NHS scan isn't until 4th Jan when I'll be nearly 14 weeks 😭
