I really need to dye my hair.

But I'm wondering if it's ok?

I have L'Oréal Inoa which is a salon only, ammonia free dye.

Need opinions on whether it's ok.

I asked my midwife if I could dye my hair she said it was fine but in the first 12 weeks it might not take as well due to hormones. So I had it done at the salon at 7 weeks and I have another appointment for about 14 weeks. All's been good

It’s absolutely fine. You may just need to do a patch test first because your skin may be more sensitive in pregnancy. I’ve had my hair dyed in a salon twice in this pregnancy, and due to have it done again at 37 weeks.

The advice not to dye your hair is quite dated. Years ago it was a problem due to all the bad chemicals found in hair dye. Hair dye used now is not so bad.

Dye is fine, absolutely. Bleach / peroxide can cause issues. Definitely do a patch test thought as you can react differently when pregnant
