How long after pregnancy will I have to wait to feel normal again?

I am six months pregnant. I have had sickness, nausea and generally felt rubbish throughout my entire pregnancy. I was admitted to hospital at 3 months due to dehydration, etc. Will my nausea go away instantly after I have my baby or will it take a while?

I was sick throughout my whole dreadful pregnancy and was still throwing up during labour. As soon as my DS was born, pretty much all pregnancy-related symptoms disappeared! I still had some sensitivity on the skin near my ribs which really hurt in the 3rd trimester but everything else was gone.

Some people find the first few weeks with a newborn really hard but I felt so much better than when I was pregnant and regretted batch cooking for the freezer when 8 months pregnant when cooking was much less work after giving birth! Grin

It sounds like you're having a tough time but hold onto the thought that you'll start to feel like your old self as soon as your baby's here Flowers

Assume you're suffering with HG? Mine went as soon as the placenta was out. For a tiny minority it lingers through bfing but for most once the placenta goes the sickness and nausea goes.

I threw up for my entire pregnancy, and all had crippling nausea.

I had an ELCS and while I did have a few waves of nausea during the procedure, I felt AMAZING as soon as I was in recovery. Honestly, felt better than I had done my entire pregnancy, even after major abdominal surgery.

Thank you. That’s reassuring. It’s my fear that I’ll have my baby and still feel extremely poorly. Looking forward to an end x

Not sickness but I had enormous swollen feet - so bad I couldn't get shoes on. Straight after the birth it went down and a few hours later I could have worn any shoes.
