Possible pelvic inflammatory disease in pregnancy HELP

I am 6+3 and feeling utterly rotten.
Spent most of this weekend in hospital with severe pain that was a suspected ectopic. Scans confirmed that it was NOT and baby is doing well and in the right place, HOWEVER they think the scan showed pelvic inflammatory disease on the right. Apparently very uncommon in pregnancy and they won't give antibiotics until swabs come back. I have endometriosis and they say the pain could be that but it is excruciating and surely if the scan showed PID then it's that?!
I am terrified. Infection can cause miscarriage and god knows where it has come from also scared as they are reluctant to give antibiotics in pregnancy. I just want my baby to be ok.

Hi OP.

So sorry you're going through this. I was in exactly the same situation as you 4 years ago. I was just over 7 weeks pregnant when I went to A&E with severe pelvic pain, so bad I couldn't walk straight and couldn't breathe properly. They done multiple scans but they couldn't say for definite what it was, the only way of telling was with a laparoscopy.

Unfortunately I was so poorly and the PID was so severe that I ended up miscarrying and was in hospital for 2 weeks.

Have they said how they can treat it? They found an abscess on my ovary which was leaking puss (sorry if TMI). I asked how I get the infection and they just said I was unlucky 🤷🏼‍♀️ xx

They said it would be antibiotics and sent me home to wait for swab results which will take several days..
The pain is awful when it comes on but only lasts 10/20 minutes a couple of times a day I have no other signs of infection such as temperature at the moment and they were treating it as endometriosis stretching until the scan. I'm just so confused and scared.

Oh okay. Mine was a permanent constant pain. Fingers crossed it can be treated with antibiotics. Several days seems like aN awful long time though! Just rest up for now. I hope everything works out for you Thanks
