Covid advice for Newborn and visitors?

Hi all,

I am in Scotland and obviously regions have their own restrictions but what are current guidelines about visitors to your newborn and how babies are affected by Corona virus?

I am assuming as well as restrictions in households this is also down to personal preference and whether you want people to hold your new baby.

What are people doing to balance immediate family and meeting the new baby?

I am thinking grandparents who we are in a support bubble with are fine.

My and my partners sisters we will say masks and hand sanitiser and short hold.

No cousins due to school transmission and no other relatives.

What are people doing and is there links to actual guidance? X

I’m not due till May (Scotland too)
I would have all my family in no problem, friends and neighbours would need to wait but family I wouldn’t mind.

Everyone is different though.

I’m in Scotland too and my baby is just 3 weeks old. We have had grandparents and our siblings over to meet her but that’s all. We are comfortable that they work from home and when they are out and about, they are taking the right precautions.

It’s hard not having anyone else visit but everyone understands it just opens up too much risk.

Everyone is different and some people won’t even have immediate family but for me, it was important that they met and bonded with her and that I got the emotional and physical support I needed after a c section.

Hope this helps and good luck Flowers

Thanks both. I think we will do along the same lines. Safe visits with immediate family working from home as important to bind and take it from there. Friends and other family we will put our foot down for now and I am sure everyone understands. X
