Pregnant with Endometriosis

Hi lovelies,
I've just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant and I have Endometriosis. We'd been TTC for around 15 months so I was very happy to see the line on the test.
Are there any other ladies who are currently pregnant who have Endometriosis or have experience of being pregnant with Endometriosis? Looking for any tips or any issues anyone had. Thanks I'm advance ❤️

I think being pregnant is good news for keeping endometriosis at bay. The hormones that fire up endometriosis are very low during pregnancy.

Yes, I agree with 4ds, in general endo is less of a problem during pregnancy. Congrats!

I’m 13weeks pregnant with endo, well I class myself as having endo as it’s never really cured but I had a 5hr long surgery 12 months ago haven’t had any symptoms since.

Haven’t noticed endo causing any issues with pregnancy but have had some muscle weakness around the portholes from the surgery.

It is a little nerve wracking as I’ve heard that endo can come back with a vengeance after pregnancy due to the oestrogen. Fingers crossed that’s just more false facts from doctors!

Have you had any surgery etc? Congrats on being pregnant! Endo can make that a little harder to do so must be a relief 😅

Hi ladies & congrats 🎉
I'm currently 6 weeks with first child & have had endo for about 10 years! So happy I came across this thread. Had quite a few endo symptoms since my BFP... aching back, pain on left side/bladder, can't stand or walk for too long. I'm really anxious how this is going to affect me as my pregnancy progresses.

Have you had any endo/pregnancy symptoms?

Thanks everyone. I actually had surgery on my endo 8 years ago but then went straight on the pill which kept my endo under control. I came off the pill last August and since then obviously my endo got progressively worse. I really struggle with bowel pain/pressure pain in my bum. Last month weirdly I also started getting bladder pain and symptoms similar to a urine infection. I also started having these symptoms again 4 days before I found out I was pregnant so I'm not sure if it's Endo symptoms but I'm still getting it now. I've read online that some women do still get endo pain and symptoms in early pregnancy so hoping they ease off. I'm just constantly worried and every little pain or cramp I get!! Just me?!

Just a heads up I'm 32weeks now but have had two bleeds around 10weeks & 14weeks if I remember rightly but both times scans havnt been able to pick up why and there doesn't seem to be any other problems I was told it could be the endo I also have fibroids. Congrats op Smile

I have endo but have 3 children. The period pain was intolerable before, but pregnancy did help (after giving birth) in terms of pain that is, not in terms of blood loss. Am on the coil now which is supposed to help with blood loss.

No issues during pregnancy (with endo).

Congratulations Flowers

@Loured5 I had my bowel resectioned in last year’s surgery due to endo infiltrating and have to say that pressure feeling was one of my symptoms. Just trying to think if there’s anything that made it better for me - I think I would just recommend avoiding getting constipated, that usually aggravated the feeling.

Hopefully your actual pregnancy symptoms might not be too bad - I’ve had absolutely no sickness and my partner is convinced it’s cos the endo made my body used to a hormone imbalance (endo lesions make their own oestrogen so you’re normally imbalanced by that). That’s his theory but he’s not a doctor!

Cramps etc. are normal in early pregnancy, mine felt like tingles but if you’re worried then speak to your midwife or doctor ❤️

Ok thank you. To be honest I wouldn't say I get constipated in terms of I cant go for days but some days I do find it hard to go so I will definitely improve that to see if it helps! Thank you!
