I just needed somewhere to vent!

My partner is super understanding and knows that I’m having ridiculous food aversions due to nausea and I take every day as it comes to decide what I can eat that day that doesn’t make me feel like I’m going to throw up. Today was chicken and Sweetcorn sandwich filler with a really crispy roll. He knows this is all I’ll eat today, one roll for lunch and one for dinner.

Well, I’ve just fallen asleep on the sofa as is my usual routine being completely shattered constantly and I’ve woken up to see him EATING MY ROLL AND FILLING!!!

Am I being completely unreasonable to consider kicking him out and never speaking to him again?!

please note this is completely light hearted and I won’t actually kick him out

But he is on the couch tonight Hmm

OP I don’t know why there’s such catty comments on this thread. It really puts me off posting when there’s such nasty people around. Good for you for not letting it bother you.

Oh I know. I see it on other threads and I just think, what’s the point?!

Even if I wasn’t pregnant and DH ate the last of my sandwich filling I’d kick him out 😂😂

Fwiw, I’m 11 weeks (very VERY precious second born if you must know) and I can’t stomach most things. Poor DH has taken to checking before he eats the last of anything in case it’s the only thing I’m fancying.

raspberryjamlove · 07/11/2020 10:16

Haha yes he's in the good books again! They just don't get it so they xx

yellowmaoampinball · 07/11/2020 10:19

The pfb comments are just stupid - they clearly haven't read the op properly. This isn't about the op wanting a particular type of food 'for the baby' its about only being able to stomach certain foods. With my first I could only manage muller lights and salads. Nothing to do with being 'precious', everything to do with trying not to be sick.

Illy603 · 07/11/2020 10:59

Oh, I could so go a muller light right now! I’m craving almost anything dairy whereas before I couldn’t even stomach a glass of milk 🙈😂

We need to get these men trained! There’s so much in the fridge my partner could feed himself for a month on it. But instead he chooses to eat my sandwich filler, grrr! 😂

Your thread made me laugh out loud last night. And my husband gave me a knowing look when he asked what I was laughing at. Luckily he doesn’t want any of my beige food!

Ignore the PFB comments - I’m on number 4 and have such a limited diet at the moment. I think people who haven’t experienced full on sickness and food aversion just have no idea how genuinely horrible it is. They probably think we’re being faddy!

mouldygrapes · 07/11/2020 14:58

Glad he redeemed himself OP! I would have been livid

@ECoby interesting that you said opening the fridge makes you gag - I have found this too! Feeling cold air on my face is a trigger, also get it sometimes if I stand too close to a radiator. It’s so weird!

JocelynSchitt · 07/11/2020 15:05

I remember your pain, op.

I eat salads for lunch every day. I make great salads. And great is an understatement. I dont eat spicy food and im vegetarian. When i was pregnant with my first, salad made me sick, then even looking at salad made me feel sick. I was linited in what i could eat and keep down. Thankfully crisps are a good staple meal, right?

So yes i totally would have been emotionally as well as physically drained and so furious with dh if he had done similar.

ThoroughlyForumed · 07/11/2020 15:40

This whole thread is just wonderful, I'm having exactly the same issue where I have very fleeting cravings for 'acceptable' foods but then its changed by even later on that day. My poor DH doesnt know whether he's coming to going as I normally do all the meal planning buying and cooking and I've basically abandoned him to look after himself and I'll just have whatever I fancy whenever I fancy it instead 🤣

bloomety · 07/11/2020 15:51

That sounds like the best idea @ThoroughlyForumed. I was craving burritos so have taken some mince out the freezer. Now the thought of them is making me feel queasy Sad

After reading this thread, i sent dh, who was at tesco at the time, a text requesting cream cakes for dessert.

He is home.

With no cream cakes.

He didnt look at his messages while in tesco.

When shall i phone the solicitor?

Omg! I’d be livid!! 😂

Turn that man around and send him back! He owes you at least double cream cakes now!
