Hi new to posting on here. About 7 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant after TTC for 6 months. I am 40 and had just received a letter from my GP advising that after having blood tests it looked like I have PCOS. I am also overweight so I was shocked to get a BFP. 5 days after the positive test I started having cramps and a bit of bleeding and feared the worse. I attending the Early Pregnancy Unit where they did a scan and I was diagnosed as having a pregnancy of unknown location as they could not see the sac. She said either it was too early (although by my dates I was over 6 weeks), I had miscarried or it was eptopic and they could not see it yet. They did a blood test to check my HGC level and I had to go back 48 hours later for a repeat blood test. The first HCG level was 310 so pretty low. The second was 96 so they basically said they thought I had already miscarried at before the first scan so I was sent home and told to do a pregnancy test in a weeks time. That pregnancy test was still positive so I went back and they did the repeat blood test and my level was now 110 so had gone up a little. They repeated the scan which again they still could not see anything. So they sent me home and told me to come back in a week for a repeat blood test. I continued to get an aching pain on my left side but they said it was my body trying to sort itself out. My next blood test the result was 21 and I was discharged from the clinic. 10 days later I still have an aching in my left side so I did another pregnancy test which was still positive with a faint line. I phoned my GP who repeated the HCG blood test and it is now at 10. I still have the aching on my left side with occasional sharp pains and therefore my GP is arranging a further scan. At my second scan I was told the tubes are too small to see on a scan so not sure that anything will be seen. Something is not right however and I am feeling that there maybe something still stuck in my tube. The EPU told me that unless the eptopic pregnancy shows itself (leaking fluid) or ruptures then there is nothing they can do and hopefully the body will dissolve it but I have a feeling that my body may have not dissolved this and it is stuck or embedded in my tube. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced similar to me? I am just desperate to find out what is going on after all this time and try and get back to normal.
