Just the above really!

Did you tell your OH before you took a pregnancy test? So he was there with you as the result appeared?

...or did you do the test alone, and reveal to him in a nice way after?

First two pregnancies I did in a supermarket toilet after buying the test. Then I texted my husband to tell him I was pregnant...actually think I tested in Sainsbury’s toilet with number 3 too!

Did the test with him 4 days before period and it came back negative. I wasn’t convinced though as really sore boobs. I then did another test the next day whilst he was at work and it had the faintest of lines.

I googled faint lines on pregnancy tests and posted on here first (priorities 😂😂) and then text him a picture - I got a call back asking what that meant 🙈

I did the first one alone and it was negative but a few days later did another one with him and it was positive. Not sure why I did the first one without him but we had been trying a while and this was the first time it seemed likely. I was very shocked when it said positive a couple of days later!

No! Six pregnancies and always kept it to myself until after I'd done a test. DH prefers it that way and so do I!

I tested then shouted him into the toilet.
I had a feeling all week I was pregnant and kept asking him to get me tests but he never bothered. I couldn’t sleep one day so got up early and walked to Sainsbury’s for it opening and planned on doing it myself but the dog started barking when I left so he knew I was gone. Done it when I got home and shouted him in when the first lines appeared straight away, tested another 3 times just to be sure.

No. We had a bit of a bicker first thing in the morning, then he left for work - flying to another city. I was getting ready for work, POAS then just sent him a pic of the BFP via WhatsApp.

No, I wouldn’t want to get his hopes up then crash him back to earth with negative after negative! Though when I did test positive I couldn’t compose myself to do something nice later, I just came out of the bathroom holding the test and sobbing 😂 (happy sobs!)

DC1 I took on my own (had only been together a month) then told him. DC2 I took on my own DC1 was only 5 months old so was worried bout telling him. DC3 (currently 30 weeks) he told me to test after DC2 said there was a baby in my belly. Literally all it took was a drop of urine and the test went straight positive.

with dd my partner bought me the test and made me do it lol, I was 4 days late but I had only had my implant removed 3 months earlier so I didnt want to get my hopes up that I actually was pregnant. With ds (currently 33 weeks preg) I hadn't been tracking my period when we decided to start trying, and when after a few weeks it didn't come I found a spare one in the drawer and did it just to check. Low and behold the reason it never came was because I was pregnant already! Dp was there with me and looked at the results both times before I did

FippertyGibbett · 08/11/2020 08:23

No.

Parkandride · 08/11/2020 09:21

Ivf so no surprises here, did it and brought it through to him to wait together both times. One miserable result and one wonderful one.

Only other time I've tested was when I didn't want to be pregnant, did that one alone.

DuzzyFuck · 08/11/2020 09:35

We're TTC so I've tested a couple of times this year but no I've not told him as there's no point both of us being disappointed!

If I were testing due to symptoms or late AF then I might, but I don't think he'd fully understand the (quite frankly a bit mad) testing just because it's an arbitrary period of time since ovulation and we're too impatient to wait any longer HmmBlush
