For us the newly pregnant crowd: What would you say are your favourite baby items stores for the different items you needed?

Large gear such as strollers, car seats etc?
Clothes?
Consumables (nappies nipple cream etc)?
Toys
Accessories such as milk pumps and the like
And obviously anything else you can think of!

I find smaller independent stores to be the best.
Simply baby Lancaster was really good, they have a really good display, every pram brand imaginable (more than JL or M&P) and a good online store. Also they’ve done consultations with us over the phone where we haven’t been able to travel to store and we’ve had a good bundle with them.
Depends on where you are, I use google maps and search baby shops in different areas and pick out the ones with good reviews and a good selection. Try that.

Baby Planet in the East Midlands (they have a few branches and an online shop) have been brilliant. Made us an appointment during peak Covid so the store was safe and we had someone show us around and talk us through all the different pram and car seat options and they gave us a great discount. I would go independent anywhere you can - they can do deals/discounts.

Mamas and Papas is my go to. Ridiculously expensive so not absolutely everything but the big ticket items. My furniture, pram and car seat all from there. Furniture is now being used for my 2nd baby and looks brand new. Same for pram. DS at 3 is still in the car seat from birth and will be probably for at least another 6 months.

So expensive outlay but it has all lasted and and great condition for my 2nd.

Clothes, I use a mixture of supermarkets, I quite like Tesco, and high street shops. When Next have a sale get involved! Their quality is really nice, if a little expensive full price.

Bits and bobs I have always got from Boots. But probably cheaper in supermarkets to be honest.
