Hey everyone, had my sweep this afternoon at 1pm, midwife said I was very favourable and 2-3cm, baby's head is extremely low. Spent the evening so far bouncing on ball, nice relaxing nap and a bath, had pains but they've calmed down now, now I'm sitting down and relaxing.

Has anyone had any successful sweeps? Midwife said she'd be surprised if he wasn't here by the weekend.

Really don't want to get my hopes up though 😂

I had my second sweep 3 weeks ago at 40 weeks exactly. Had the sweep at 11am and was 2cm. Went home and had mild contractions all day, then at about 7pm they completely stopped! Started doing the circular hip movement stood up then at 11:30pm POP my waters went all over the kitchen floor and went into labour :) so it can take time!

I had a sweep last Friday (2nd baby) at 40+1 and was 3cm dilated, cervix soft, baby engaged. The midwife said she had ‘never swept anyone more favourable’ and that I would have my baby before the end of the weekend. I’m 41 weeks today and still no baby Angry

Disappointed to say the least!!

Hope your sweep kicked things off overnight!

I had all the pains last night and they even woke me up in my sleep but they've disappeared now 😭 disappointed

I had a a sweep at 40 weeks +3 with my second baby and had contractions 12-18 hours later that subsided. That day 40+4 had another sweep around 1pm and all kick-started within one hour and baby born at 6.30 pm. I didn’t want the sweeps and by my counts I was 39 weeks but since I was 42 I was warned of danger to baby and went ahead. Normal birth and all good!!! Good luck 🤞🏽
