Cramping early pregnancy - twins

Hi all, hoping for a bit of advice here!

A few weeks ago me and my husband found out we are pregnant after almost 5 years of trying and having PCOS. We were so thrilled but very scared as our last (which was also our first) pregnancy turned out to be ectopic and needed to be terminated. As last time was ectopic we were brought in for an early scan where I measured 6weeks and 3 days and they found out it was twins! Both twins also had a heartbeat which we got to see which was so amazing.

I’m paranoid after what happened last time and I keep getting cramps in my groin area, sometimes I can go all day without any and then I get a shooting pain for a split second and it goes and sometimes it can be smaller but more frequent niggles throughout the day. I’ve not had any bleeding or spotting (as yet!) but I’m constantly keeping an eye out! I’m just wondering if these pains are normal and other people have experienced this, especially with a twin pregnancy or whether I should be worried it’s the start of a miscarriage. I’ve had these cramps since I found out over 3 weeks ago and they haven’t intensified or died out and as I’ve not had a successful pregnancy before I’m just not sure what to think!

Many Thanks

Hi @RavenAO congratulations!! Totally understand your worry but wanted to let you know that that sounds completely normal , lots of things are happening inside you so it's a given you'll feel twinges here and there , try not to worry so much (easier said than done ha) but as long as no bleeding( which can aslo be normal ) then you should be fine ! Wishing you a healthy 9 months with your babas 💐

Thank you @dreamer2! 💕 it’s so hard not to overthink things and get paranoid! I felt reassured when we saw the heartbeats but I’ve also heard the awful stories of people who miscarried after seeing the heartbeat. And I know women with PCOS are also of a higher change of miscarriage. Hopefully I’m just reading into all of this too much and things go well🤞

Totally normal, everything is stretching, even more so with twins. Sharp pains down at each side of your abdomen when getting up, bending, coughing etc are usually round ligament pain.
