Hi Ladies, I got my bfp a few days ago. Knew I was pregnant because of the cramps but 4 days later and the right sided pulling pains are still there. Anybody had experience with this please? I appreciate any help as I'm getting worried about another ectopic x

Ring 111 for advise, better to get checked out

You should definitely get checked. Ring 111 or your GP who can refer you to EPU.

First of all, congratulations!
Localised pain in the side is common, especially if it's the side you have ovulated from. A functioning cyst (there is a fancy word for it but I don't know what it is) forms after ovulation and conception which produces the hormones you need for a healthy pregnancy. It doesn't both most women but for some it can cause pain.
I had this and ended up crippled in pain at 7 weeks pregnant.
However, I'm no doctor, so as op said speak to NHS 111 or your GP if you're really concerned

*it's doesn't bother most women

Have you had a previous ectopic? I had a ruptured ectopic a few years ago and get referred to the early pregnancy unit if I get pregnant, my local one won't normally scan before 6wks. I went in May and it wasn't clear on the scan so they did hgc bloods every 48 hours to check whether it was doubling. Could you either ring the EPU or GP for referral in the morning or if you're really concerned tonight maybe call 111 to talk to a GP. If pain gets worse or you feel dizzy then A&E. Unfortunately without a scan or bloods no one is going to be able to tell you whether it's ectopic but I understand the stress of not knowing.

Thank you all for your replies. Yes I've had an ectopic on my left side, caught at 10 weeks it was my first pregnancy so I guess I ignored the pains as normal. Thankfully I was very lucky and a small dose of chemo sorted it quickly before my tube ruptured. So when I had my DD I also had one sided pain from day 1, went for early scan and it was a cyst on my ovary. I would love to think that this time around I have a cyst again but how common can they be to have one on a different ovary with 2 pregnancies? Does anybody have experience? I tried to phone the EPU but can't get through tonight, I remember calling with my DD and they said to wait until I'm at least 6 weeks for a scan because they can't see anything. I just need some reassurance in the mean time Smile

Also here are my early tests which are a day apart, they do show decent progression which I never had with my ectopic so I'm praying that its not the same. I guess what I'm really looking for is another reason for my one sided pain that means I still get my happy ending 😊 Thank you all for reading x

I had this on my left side, I had a private scan done and I had a corpus luteum cyst on that ovary, the sonographer said it was the side I'd ovulated from.

Given your history I would get checked out to be on the safe side but don't panic just yet as it can also be perfectly normal ❤️

Olivebranch26 · 02/11/2020 19:44

@Lou98 Thank you I have had this with my DD and it seems the same kind of pain, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this little bean. Can I ask how long your pains lasted for? Ty

I had 1-sided pain at 6 weeks which turned out to be a water infection. But definitely with getting checked. I was concerned about going to a&e (am in Spain so don't have the same options as UK), so got a private scan just to reassure me that the embryo was where it should be. I know that's not possible for everyone, but just a suggestion.

LaMadrilena · 02/11/2020 19:50

*WORTH getting checked

Lou98 · 02/11/2020 20:44

@Olivebranch26 I started getting them a few days after my BFP and initially they lasted maybe 3 days continuous and then after that they came and went for about 2 weeks on and off x
