Stupid question and worried question

Ok, apologies for v stupid question. Went to a girls school where sex education meant passing round a tampon and giggling so that's my (bad) excuse. How do you count pregnancy? Do you count from first day of last period, or last day of last period, or from half way through the cycle etc etc?I have a 29 day cycle and was due on last Saturday (tested pregnant on Thursday) does that make me around 5 weeks? Again sorry to be so dumb .

Now, worried question... am mildly nauseous, have period type cramping and pulling sensation - all of which seem on the right track. However I also have an on/off pain in my right hand side. Almost like a stitch. I'm worried that that could point to an ectopic pregnancy. However have read that the pain is usually constant, is that right? As of yet I have no bleeding (just quite a lot of cm). Sorry if tmi! Can't see my gynae till the beginning of next week so would really like some advice. Thank you so much!

Har I have had a funny tummy since finding out I was pregnant, I also have been really cold rather than hot. I think my body is working the wrong way round! I saw baby a couple of weeks ago so don't think it's a problem!

Thank you goingfor3, as you say just feels wierd to feel cold and funny tummy when you're meant to be absolutely the opposite. Amazing that you saw your baby though, that must have been wonderful!

Every pregnancy is different, the same way some women have morning sickness with one pregnancy and not with another, so some women get more pigmentation (Chloasma) than others.

It is not harmful and does fade afterwards.

Hello, I havn't gone through all the replies, but I'd just like to let you know that I had exactly the same situation and pains when I first got pregnant. Had an internal and 2 scans since (11 weeks now) and everything is spot on. I still have pains all the time. Altho it sounds like ectopic, mine wasn't so maybe not after all. It's best to get an early scan (from 6-7 weeks) for a situation like this one. It certainly put my mind at rest.

Good luck. I still get pains all the time now. It's just a sign to take it easy. And growing.
