Have 3 healthy children, had an amazing army miscarriage before DC3, and one in late August/early September at about 9weeks.
Am pregnant again, I'm not sure how far as has no period after miscarriage but digital clear blue says 3+weeks.
I've had some nausea, feel tired etc then today I had a little brown discharge. Just wiped after going to the loo & it's a pale pink. I'm now terrified and doing my best to think positive thoughts. Any positive stories would really help!
Thanks in advance

I can't give a 100% confidently positive story as I'm at 14 weeks - but during my first trimester I had 5 heavy bleeds (bright red blood, enough to fill a sanitary pad in under an hour). Despite this, baby was looking fine at my scan at 12w5 (and at an emergency scan at 9w). Sometimes bleeding can be bad news, but not always. Perhaps call up your GP to see what they advise (especially given your uncertainty over dates)? Hope it ends up as good news for you.

Yes I’ve had bleeding in my pregnancy in first trimester and now 17 weeks so honestly it can be ok! X

speakFIENDandenter · 27/10/2020 18:57

Thanks both. I'm lying down and trying to relax. I think I most freaked out because this is how it started with my last miscarriage and within a couple of days I was bleeding really heavily & ended up in A&E.
Fingers crossed that baby is just burrowing in deep for the long haul. Thank you again

I bled for 6 weeks straight, between weeks 9 and 15. I had heavy bleeds of fresh red blood, like someone had switched on a tap, I passed clots the size of my hand and then I also had small bleeds with old brown blood and sometimes just pink when wiping.

I had multiple scans and my cervix was checked countless times and was always closed which was positive.

He'll be 5 weeks old on Friday and the worries in pregnancy seem a life time ago. He's happily snoozing in his moses basket right now.

Unrelated, but I suffered a heavy bleed after birth so I ended up in theatre. They commented to say they could actually see evidence of the early bleeding on my placenta. They do say you can either bleed it out, or your body can just absorb it.

I know things are different during COVID times, but maybe see if you can get in touch with your local Early Pregnancy Unit. My very first bleed happened on a Friday evening and I just couldn't wait until the following week to get checked over so I booked a private scan. They were able to find the heartbeat and offer me some reassurance at the time.

I really hope everything works out for you

This must be so scary for you. I had a heamatoma with my first pregnancy, the egg detached from the womb lining and created a sac of blood where it had previously been, baby found a new position but the damaged area would fill up with blood then purge (sorry tmi) and i would have heavy bleeds. This first happened at 7 weeks and every week after until 18ish weeks. The first time I was told we had lost the baby in a&e on Saturday then they found babies heart beat on the Monday.... those were long days. We could have lost him during any of the bleeds as he was so little and they were so strong. He is now 26 months and looking forward to becoming a big brother any day now. I hope it turns out as well for you as it did for me.

Bled twice here, at 10 and 14 weeks and had the extra scans- baby was fine, they didn't find the cause. Am snuggling next to the little guy now.

My friend also had periods of bleeding up to 20 weeks and her baby is absolutely fine.

It's horrible and nothing helped me when waiting for those scans, but I really do believe it's more common than we think. All the best to you and baby

I bled at various times through each of my three pregnancies. The first time it happened, they were concerned enough to admit me to hospital and scan me. All fine and I have three lovely DC now.

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 27/10/2020 20:27

I had spotting for a few weeks in my first pregnancy - DC1 stayed there until she was evicted at almost 42 weeks.

Then a very early miscarriage.

Then all sorts of bleeding in my last pregnancy- spotting, flowing, brown, pink, bright red, deep red, clots etc. They never established the cause but a cervical erosion was the likely culprit. DC2 is 6 years old now, and a very cute pain in the ass.

All the best OP Smile

I had bleeding up until about 13 weeks. Turned out to be a cervical polyp that eventually dropped off itself.
Hope everything turns out well for you Smile

Ladies you have helped so much. I am trying to stay positive and these stories really help. We were planning a private scan at 8weeks ish so may try to bring that forward.
Time for trashy tv and relaxing to overcome to helplessness!

Ive had 3 miscarriages and lost 4 babies but the successful pregnancies, ive bled on...

With my DS, i had a bleed at 6.5 weeks, cramping, clots and heavy
I had another bleed at 14 weeks, heavy and cramping. DS was fine and could never find the cause of the bleed.

In currently 16 weeks pregnant with DS2 and i bleed at 5+5, and again at 14 weeks. Again no cause but all seems ok at the min.
Im clearly one that bleeds in pregnancy. Ive learnt that as worrying as it is to see bright red blood when pregnancy, doesnt always mean its going to end badly.

Mishmased · 28/10/2020 04:05

I had two non eventful pregnancies and got pregnant in July, miscarriage at 6 weeks. Got pregnant again in September and started bleeding at 4 weeks. Had to wait until 6 weeks to get scanned and they found a hematoma. Said it should bleed out or be reabsorbed bleeding continued on and off until about 7 weeks. Got scanned yesterday at 9 weeks no sign of hematoma, bleeding gone but just some pink when I wipe. Fingers crossed it'll be fine.

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 28/10/2020 04:34

I am almost 15 weeks pregnant with our first baby following an early miscarriage last year. With the MC it was at 2 weeks and the bleeding became very heavy and constant for 3-4 days.

With this pregnancy I have had bleeding at 3 stages so far. At 6 weeks I had some moderate bleeding fresh blood for a day. I had a scan and thankfully there was a heartbeat, the scan looked like there was a bit of a clot so the nurse said there might be more bleeding at some point.
At 10-12 weeks I had bleeding of various types, spotting, pinkish watery discharge, thicker dark pink discharge and darker brown blood with some small bits of clots/tissue (sorry if TMI!) I also had moderate cramping during this time. I had a scan at the early pregnancy unit and luckily all was well again.
I’ve just had another episode of bleeding at almost 14 weeks this time it was more dark pink and dark brown discharge/bleeding. Again all was well at the scan.
Each time I was worried sick thinking the worst. Obviously every pregnancy is different but don’t automatically think the worst is happening. I was told many women have bleeding during pregnancy at different stages and some all the way through, around 50%. Often this is unexplained and no reason for it shows up on a scan.
The nurses told me unless the bleeding is heavy like a period for a prolonged time and you have major cramping it shouldn’t automatically be cause for alarm. But they told me to get checked out each and every time I was worried and that was what they were there for. So that would be my advice to anyone with bleeding, don’t stay at home worrying please get checked out.

Try to stay positive and relax as much as possible, distract yourself as much as you can. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope everything is okay with the baby.Flowers

hellymum21 · 28/10/2020 06:21

I had bleeding from around 7-10 weeks then it stopped. I am now 21 weeks pregnant with a baby girl 🥰I had scans all throughout the bleeding that showed baby fine but it doesn't stop the worry, so I empathise with you @speakFIENDandenter I hope you're doing ok x

monkeytennis97 · 28/10/2020 06:25

Had it in both pregnancies. First I had a bleed at 6,11-18 weeks and second was 13-16 weeks. Both times the thinking was that it was probably a haematoma. DCs are now both grown up!
