I've only recently found out that I'm pregnant (4 weeks today) and I'm learning new things day by day, however I was on auto pilot on my lunch break and grabbed a mozzarella and pesto wrap from M&S then I realised after I ploughed it down, I shouldn't. There isn't anything that says it's unpasteurized or pasteurized on the packaging either

I'm feeling terrified now!!

Mozzarella is fine, I had a very miserable Italian meal at about 6 weeks thinking it was bad but it's fine.

ShirleyPhallus · 27/10/2020 13:12

Mozzarella is fine

BertieBloopsMum · 27/10/2020 13:12

What's wrong with eating mozzarella when you're pregnant? Confused

It will have been pasteurised if it's from M&S, not some artisanal deli.

DoYouWannaBeInMyQuiche · 27/10/2020 13:12

Mozzarella was one of only a few things I could stomach during my second pregnancy. It's absolutely fine.

Turtleturtle81 · 27/10/2020 13:56

The only mozzarella you need to double check is the really fancy, expensive artisan buffalo mozzarella you might find in an authentic Italian deli. I doubt M&S are putting the good shit in their sandwiches.

Totally fine. Relax OP! Even if you ate something that the NHS actually advises against, the risk is ludicrously small.

i eat mozzerella all the time - i believe it's fine? am 20 weeks now

Minkies13 · 27/10/2020 14:33

I have eaten it with most salads I've had through this entire pregnancy. It's a staple of mine. Don't worry about it!
