Hi everyone,

I don’t think I’ve had too many BH throughout my pregnancy but have been feeling increasingly uncomfortable in the last few weeks with shooting stabbing pains down below and period type cramps etc as well as bad rib pain and feeling like there’s physically no space left for baby!

Anyway yesterday, I suddenly started to get severe tightening mainly at the top right side of bump which were so sharp I couldn’t move. Just by chance my midwives were coming round and when they examined me they said I was having contractions every 3 mins or so which lasted about 45 seconds. I had a warm bath which helped a bit but they carried on all evening. However this morning it’s stopped.

Has anyone else experience this?

I think if you were having contractions every 3 minutes your midwife should have told you to get to hospital as that sounds like active labour to me.

Usually the hospital tell you contractions every 5 minutes or less, lasting 30 seconds or longer means you are in labour

@Queenbee95 thanks. Well nothing happened and it went away so I guess it couldn't have been? Bit clueless on all this

Hmm strange! I did get really painful BH with both my previous pregnancies, which I was told BH weren’t sore.. but they defo weren’t as frequent as yours!

@Queenbee95 yes was very strange! Guess I'll just see what happens

@Givemeabreak45
I've been exactly the same for the last week and was monitored in hospital for reduced movement. I was contracting every few minutes but they weren't lasting long enough to start labour so was just told to keep an eye on them.
I've got to be abit careful cause my baby is transverse so it's not currently safe for me to go into labour naturally.
Just keep an eye on your symptoms and phone the PAU if you are concerned xx
