Hi. So, I'm 28 weeks on Wednesday with DC4. I have low papp-a so have my first growth scan tomorrow!
Anyone else at a similar stage and want to chat through the final trimester?

Hi I'm 30 weeks today also pregnant with DC4. I'm having growth scans every 3 weeks and have my second one next week, no low papp-a here but all 3 DC were below the 5th centile at birth making them SGA and FGR,. This pregnancy has flow by even though I don't want it to lol, how are you feeling x

Grumpy19 · 27/10/2020 07:20

Hi @Maidmummy.
Another fourth timer!! My previous babies were all in the 7lbs so about average so I'm hoping this one will follow suit.
It really has flown by this pregnancy and like you, I don't really want it too as it will definitely be our last (not planned at all!)

How much of an age gap do you have between yours?
Did your babies have to stay in hospital after their birth because of their low birth weight?

I'm going to be 28 weeks on Friday with baby no.1!

I also have extra growth scans but its due to raised dopplers at my 20 week scan. I have my first growth scan on Monday.

Have you started packing your hospital bag yet? I know its early but I have started getting some bits together for it!

Grumpy19 · 27/10/2020 07:32

Hi @HopeWish
Congratulations on your first baby!!
I've got my growth scans 9:30 followed by consultant appointment so I'm excited and nervous this morning.

I haven't started packing but have got a few bits together such as maternity pads which I got online.

What I don't have is many baby clothes at all. I was thinking of waiting to see what these growth scans say before buying too much of one size but I know the scans aren't always accurate. X

Whoop whoop, chicken soup!!!
I was 28 weeks yesterday. God is great! Expecting my 5th child. It's our 3rd girl. And so excited.

HopeWish · 27/10/2020 12:52

@Grumpy19 I hope your growth scan and appt went ok!

I think with the hospital bag I just want to get completely organised as it's my first and I don't want to be worrying about too many things at the last minute!

I just started watching the positive birth company videos to try and put me in a positive mindset.

I'm feeling so heavy and tired already and I have 8 more weeks before I officially finish work. It's so difficult trying to motivate myself for the last couple of months of work!

Oneandabean · 27/10/2020 13:20

I’m 27 weeks tomorrow. Got my final consultant appointment today (monitoring cervical length after a LLETZ)
My second baby but DD is 9 so a big gap.

Grumpy19 · 27/10/2020 13:29

Hi. @PopsicleHustler and @Oneandabean
Congratulations on your pregnancies!

My growth scan went well. He is bang on 50th centile for weigh so that is a relief.

@HopeWish I have the hypnobirthing download I listen to every night but can't stay awake till the end! 😂 I used it with DC2 and 3 (both VBACs) and found it really useful.
I've decided to take a baby bag and a bag for me this time. I just had one big bag previously but think it will be easier to manage and keep two bags organised.

Grumpy19 · 27/10/2020 14:15

Hi @Pol96 congratulations and welcome. How are you finding things? It's so exciting when you have your first!

@grumpy19
Am so excited. Thank you and congratulations to you also!!!!

Has everybody got everything ready for new little one?
Decided on a birth plan?
And when will you be packing your hospital bag? Does it include a bag stashed with snacks?

Pol96 · 27/10/2020 15:10

@Grumpy19 good thank you, heartburn is a pain! But other than that I'm doing good.. I'm just so excited to finally have him here, love feeling him wiggling away, had a 4d scan at the weekend so we could see his face and now I'm even more excited to meet him 😅 hoping he doesn't make me wait till my due date (or after!)

Congratulations to everyone on this thread! X

Grumpy19 · 27/10/2020 15:21

@PopsicleHustler our youngest will be 7 when this one arrives (and he was completely unplanned) so we had got rid if all our baby gear!! Think we're about there now with the key items (about half what we bought for DC1!)

@Pol96 how amazing to have a 3d scan. I've never done that.

It's odd as pregnancy seems to go on so long but once they arrive it seems like it happened in a flash!

My birthing plan so far is to stay upright and be left alone as much as possible. Hopefully will just use gas and air as that's what I did with the last two. I'm hoping he comes on his own accord. I have had two inductions and one spontaneous labour before but I have been told I will be induced at 40 weeks if he doesn't come beforehand.

Covid has thrown such a spanner in the works but I'm not going to over pack my bags as even if dh can't visit on the ward (if I had to stay in) they can drop bags off at the entrance. I had to do that earlier in the year for my dad who had a heart attack.

Maidmummy · 27/10/2020 18:17

@Grumpy19 Glad your scan went well and baby is doing well 😊

I have a 6 year old, nearly 4 and 2 year old God I must be glutton for punishment having them all so close together lol. This baby is currently on the 10th centile but doing perfectly well at the minute.

I've got everything I need for baby for the hospital but barely anything for myself 🤦 it's all in the wardrobe in a pile ready to start packing once I hit 32 weeks. Based on previous pregnancies and my last being induced early my consultant has said the likelihood of them letting me get to term is very slim so I'm preparing early in case this baby stops growing aswell. For my birth plan it's just EPIDURAL EPIDURAL EPIDURAL 😂 I've done it 3 times before on just gas and air I'm not doing it again, I want to be pain free this time 😂 x

Maidmummy · 27/10/2020 18:19

@Grumpy19 I stayed in 3 days with my first as she was taken to NICU, I was home a few hours after birth with the second and with my 3rd he was my smallest on the 1st centile and he struggled to hold his own temperature so was kept in for a couple of days x

Lam8487 · 27/10/2020 18:21

Hi All,

I'm 30 weeks with baby #1, anxious yet excited.

I've started packing my hospital bag, maternity pads, cotton pads, nappies etc, still got a few bits to go like clothes, snacks, and comfy clothes for me

Grumpy19 · 27/10/2020 20:02

Wow @Maidmummy, those are very regular babies!
Mine are 10, 8 and 6 then we thought we'd stopped! 😂

Hi @Lam8487. Congratulations on your pregnancy! It always feels very real when you pack the bags! Especially when you but the little tiny clothes in knowing that the next time they're out they'll be going on your little baby! 🥰

Thanks @Grumpy19 it's all starting to feel very real. Congratulations to you too and all the ladies on here

MnM156 · 27/10/2020 21:48

I am almost 31 weeks. Have not started setting up anything for the baby's arrival but I plan to finish everything by end Nov.

topmum1 · 27/10/2020 21:56

Hello all! 27 weeks yesterday with third baby. Seems much tougher this time round, probably because I am an older mum, turned 40 this year. Weird being pregnant during covid too, hate going to scans alone and worried about birth. So far so good though, seeing consultant next week, anti d app, midwife, health visitor and 28 scan app! A busy fortnite ahead!!!GrinGrin

PopsicleHustler · 28/10/2020 02:37

I dont actually have too much to buy, as am having another girl and already have 2. I kept a lot of stuff from my last girl born in 2018, so its just a case of sorting through them. Also need a travel system and newborn nappies and we are good to go.

My birth plan is simple. A water birth. And gas and air. Husband to pass her to me, rather than the midwife. Vitamin k as well.

And will be packing my hospital bag at 34 weeks and also making sure its filled with snacks as hospital food is terrible. Cold hard dollops of mashed potato with slices of salmon the size of a baby shoe. Will be cramming a bag full of snacks and drinks for hubby and I during labour, and for me for after. As last time I remember sitting in the bed resting after having the baby and so so hungry. And am also a very fussy eater so meal times weren't fun. It was actually quite depressing.

Grumpy19 · 28/10/2020 08:00

Hi @MnM156 is it your first? Congratulations! I think I get stuff ready too soon but excitement gets the better of me. You sound very organised!

Hi @topmum1. Welcome and congratulations! I am 37 this time and have found it harder this time round. Either that, or I've just blocked out the back pain, constipation, sickness... 😆 Good luck with all your appointments. It's exciting now.
I think I see someone pretty much every 2 weeks from now on (midwife , consultant, scans)

@PopsicleHustler, I know what you mean about hospital food. I'm hoping that with Covid, they will be discharging me asap.
It's looking like I will have to go back to the hospital where I had my DC1 and they completely screwed up! Feeling very anxious about that part. I just hope I can stay home as long as possible, go in and g
have him and be back out again within 6 hours!! (Possibly ambitious)
