Hi. Just wondering peoples thoughts on going on holiday at 25 weeks? And during the pandemic? Ive booked to go tenerife om the 9th for 5 days. Ive got a check with the midwife the week before to check my blood pressure and urine and ive been reassured everything is going well witj tje pregnancy. Im not too worried about risks of covid as i work in hospitality in a tier 3 area and non of the customers listen to a word we say and constantly get too close and dont wear a mask and refuse sanitiser so i feel id actually be safer on holiday lol. Just wondering if anyone has been away while pregnant and has any thoughts.

I went away at 30 weeks with DC3 if you are low risk I can't see any reason why you can't go

HellooJackie · 26/10/2020 22:40

I wouldn't personally

Tronkmanton · 26/10/2020 22:46

I wouldn’t, but I had my DS at 28 weeks so I’m probably rather over cautious sorry. Couldn’t think how horrendous it would be to be stuck in a foreign country with a premmie baby with a pandemic going on. Make sure your travel insurance is good.

MaryShelley1818 · 27/10/2020 02:50

I wouldn't either - and I'm really laid back about most pregnancy related things.
I think travelling abroad in the middle of a Pandemic with the additional risk of being pregnant is absolute madness.
We cancelled our holiday last month (booked in 2019) and the GP completed the forms for insurance.

I agree. Totally ridiculous.

My boss was in Tenerife recently and said they had to wear masks on the beaches. He said he wishes they hadn't gone.

@EssieMay i have just got back from Greece & am 29 weeks. So glad I did as it looks like we've got a long miserable winter ahead! Obviously if you do go make sure you have insurance & COVID cover, but enjoy yourself! 😊

Disappointedkoala · 27/10/2020 06:22

I went away without a second thought at 26/27 weeks with my first but we decided against it this time - I'm pretty relaxed about Covid but it just seems like additional risk, especially when I see all the tweets about idiots refusing to follow the rules on planes.

Carabu1 · 27/10/2020 17:46

Definitely a no from me - as others say, can’t imagine anything worse than a premature baby in a foreign country in a pandemic....! Just not worth it IMO - but depend how you feel really - the fact you’re posting suggests you’re worried? Will you even enjoy it if that’s the case?

Moo678 · 27/10/2020 22:23

I would go without a second thought if it weren’t for Covid. The way things currently stand i wouldn’t travel abroad full stop regardless of pregnancy.

TheFoz · 27/10/2020 23:16

Each to their own but it would be an absolute no for me.

EasterIssland · 27/10/2020 23:17

Flew back on the 31st week ( I actually flew 6 times whilst pregnant )
Do what’s right for you and not what others things is the right / wrong thing to do

ReggaetonLente · 27/10/2020 23:20

I'm going to have to take a long haul flight about then, we're moving abroad. I'm not concerned. Most other countries are dealing with covid much better than we are!

Completely agree.

I flew long haul at 22 returning at 25 but no pandemic of course. But I was visiting the U.K. from overseas where I lived so wasn't concerned particularly if I for some reason couldn't fly back on time, my parents would have loved me to stay!
