40+4 and thinking of trying castor oil

Overdue and fed up! Has anyone successfully used castor oil to induce labour?

I wouldn't try it, unless you fancy shutting yourself

At this point I really don’t care as long as it’s gets things moving. I spent the first half of pregnancy with my head down the toilet so think I could handle the shits 🤣

It doesn't work, to be honest nothing works! Your baby will come when your baby is ready.
If you want to try a few natural things there's clary sage, raspberry leaf tea, dates, walking, sex, sex and more sex! Good luck!

It worked for me. Take the specified dose in a cup of hot milk before bed.

@whyareyoulying I’ve tried everythinggggg only half a bottle of clary sage left, got through 3 box’s of raspberry leaf tea and had three very expensive acupuncture sessions from 37 weeks 🙈 I give up! I know babies come when they are ready but really getting frustrated. Castor oil is the only thing left on the list.

40+4 isn’t very overdue really - try to chill and wait? I know that’s easier said than done! My DC1 came at 41+1day and I had a great spontaneous labour.

Both mine and DH’s mums had babies born after 41 or even 42 weeks, so I expected to wait a while.

It’s so much better if you can relax and let things happen naturally x

Acupuncture is a load of rubbish, I tried it too. A ginger man told me what I was having according to my pulse and when I would have my child according to moon phases. He was wrong on all accounts.
You need to relax, you're hardly overdue! Get the oxytocin flowing and your baby will come.

It worked for my nan when she was determined to have her baby on 5th April (before the tax year started). Good luck!
