10 weeks PP can I get pregnant again? HELP

So I’m exclusively breastfeeding but I have got my period back. I got it at 4 weeks PP and went to hospital and they confirmed it was a period. I had my second 28 days after that so it looks like they’re back to normal.

Me and dh has intercourse and the condom snapped, so he ejaculated inside me. I’m 10 weeks PP and that was on my ovulation day.

What are the chances of me getting pregnant again? Is it less or more likely after having a baby? I’m freaking out over here

When was it? Can you still get the MAP?

RaspberryHartleys · 23/10/2020 13:51

You are more fertile after having a baby I understand.

You have unprotected sex, you could definitely be pregnant

everyothernamewastaken · 23/10/2020 13:51

Of course you can get pregnant.

Depending on how many days ago it was you could get emergency contraception

geemeister · 23/10/2020 13:53

I’m 2dpo but I can’t get a prescription without a doctors appointment and the next available one is next week and I don’t think emergency contraceptives work that late

Go to the pharmacy and buy the map. My third child was 14 weeks and I found out I was pregnant again.
You are very fertile.

IndecentFeminist · 23/10/2020 14:01

Just go and buy it over the counter?

geemeister · 23/10/2020 14:01

Okay I’ll stop by the pharmacy later today, thankyou

Of course you can.

Cocothefirst · 23/10/2020 14:05

Definitely. I'm a year and 2 weeks older than my sister.

Good luck!

MrsKin90 · 23/10/2020 14:15

I thought the MAP only worked if taken before ovulation? So if you've already ovulated I'm not sure there'd be any benefit? Not to add to your panic or anything but thought better to mention it than not!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/10/2020 14:19

The coil works even if post ovulation! So you could get a coil placed?

BabyG123 · 23/10/2020 14:41

Pretty high after pregnancy as you're
More fertile

Rainallnight · 23/10/2020 15:00

@MrsKin90, I don’t think that’s true about the MAP?

MrsKin90 · 23/10/2020 17:29

@Rainallnight I might be wrong and am sorry if I am, as I don't want to panic OP or anything and a pharmacy would obviously know one way or another and advise. Although I thought that's how the MAP worked - by delaying ovulation. Which it can't do it ovulation has already happened... But maybe I'm just misinformed!

everyothernamewastaken · 23/10/2020 17:32

I think the map may also help to prevent implantation of a fertilised egg

MumToBeMaz · 23/10/2020 18:02

There are different kinds of MAP, the pharmacist will have a conversation with you about your circumstances and recommend what to do. They will help you, dont worry.

BabyG123 · 23/10/2020 21:13

Not sure why there is the assumption for a MAP.

People have babies close together so there is always that option??

dementedpixie · 23/10/2020 21:17

If OP is freaking out as she says then it sounds like she doesn't want another baby just yet

Yes you could get pregnant at this stage after birth

AriettyHomily · 23/10/2020 21:21

Just got to the pharmacy and buy the MAP assuming you don't want another child. You don't need a prescription.

surprisebabyshower · 23/10/2020 23:14

@BabyG123 did you read ops posts? It's pretty clear she doesn't want another baby right now.

BabyG123 · 24/10/2020 14:01

@surprisebabyshower depends how you read it. Excited? Worry? Freaking out in a good way? I'd just never suggest that to someone as the only option that's all.
