Hi

I had a scan today at the foetal wellbeing clinic as i have had a pre term baby due to PPROM.
They seen that i have a posterior low lying placenta but said this should move as the pregnancy progressed, if not, i would need a C-Section.
Its scared me a little as i really dont want a CS.

Did you have a low lying placenta and it moved? If so, when?

Thanks

I did and it gradually moved up. Had a vaginal birth but came to terms very early with the idea of a c section so I wasn't disappointed. Really didn't want a c section but after a very traumatic birth (nothing to do with placenta) I kindof wish I did!

I had a low lying anterior placenta at 15 weeks when I got scanned for my amnio but by 20 weeks it had moved up and by 30 weeks (private scan) it had moved well out of the way :)

Ah good. I understand there is more chance of it moving up than not. It just worried me slightly.

I have lots of scans scheduled for a number of reasons so hopefully i will see progression on that moving up each time i go!
Thanks

Yes. Low lying at 12 week scan but moved up. I understood it wasn’t that unusual but I could be wrong.

Mine moved for both pregnancies. I think it's really rare for it not to resolve itself

My sil did and it moved.

Thank you all.

Looks like i should hopefully be ok still for a natural birth... the thought of a CS fills me with dread

I had this at 20 weeks and it had moved

Just noticed your thread after posting similar @Aprilbaby21 😊 I was told same at 20 week scan last week. Good to hear positive stories that it most likely will move

blankiesandunicorns · 24/10/2020 07:14

Mine moved when they scanned me at 32 weeks which I was so relieved about as didn't want a c section. Ended up having emergency c section anyway because of traumatic birth. You can't plan these things
