Hi, I’ve just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant yesterday, however over the last few days I have been experiencing period like pains, is this normal? Can’t help but worry!

I've had something smilar although not consistently; I think it is normal to have cramps (apparently it is just your uterus growing) but more worrying if they are regular (i.e. like they would be if you were giving birth) or very intense. Assuming not, I would try not to worry too much (although I've not been very good at taking that advice myself!). Good luck x

Yes - it’s your uterus stretching and making room for a new baby.

Tbh I’ve had a successful pregnancy and a loss and I still had those pains.

Congratulations on your news.

I did, most of the way through pregnancy. Kept me awake at times (exactly the same as period pains). I think it’s just stuff moving around in there! Try not to worry, easier said than done I know! At the end of my pregnancy I had braxton hicks too- so cramps all the way pretty much!

All of my pregnancies have resulted in period type pains all through the first trimester (but no bleeding). I had early scans due to them and everything was thankfully fine.

Very normal for me.

Thank you! It’s nice knowing other woman are going through the same! I’ll try to relax x

Iv just got a BFP and i also have those pains. Think its normal. Had them for the first few weeks with my first pregnancy

TheDaydreamBelievers · 22/10/2020 20:05

Yup, lots week 4-7

I'm also due in June 2021 so not far off you. They were my first symptom and so painful. Weeks 4-6 then they eased off . I was so worried my GP referred me to EPU at 6 weeks which really reassured me. Since then I've only had 1! Hot water bottles and keep moving seemed to help.

I had this with my pregnancy. It actually hurt more than usual. No bleeding for me, but I know some women have it.
I was a bit worried, but pregnancy was a bliss from there.
CongratulationsFlowers

@ashleighdarcie2020 Congratulations! I am also 4+3, pregnant with no 2. And had an early miscarriage in July. I started getting cramps on and off today also but I do remember having these with my first. Hard not to run to the toilet every 2 mins to check!
