I was having severe pain so had an early scan at 6 weeks! Heart beat was seen and everything looked fine.
I'm now 8 weeks and 3 days and I just want to know if everything's ok. My next scan is obviously when I'm 12 weeks but it just feels ages away.
Would it be ridiculous to get a private scan to see what's happening?

I don’t think so, I had one at 6+3 and then one last Saturday at 10+3.

If you can pay for it then why not? We are stressed enough as pregnant women so why not do some things to get rid of those fears.

Okay then, Thankyou. I think I'll book one in for early next week, just for peace of mind! X

I think it's worth bearing in mind though, OP, that the scan is only as reassuring as the length of time you're having it. It might also be worth looking into how you can manage your worries around it, only so you don't feel anxious in-between scans or feel the need to get more than you can afford.
Best of luck to you whatever you choose!Flowers

I had a miscarriage before my little boy and I paid for 5 private scans in total when I needed reassurance - it only lasted a few days but once the midwife started listening to the heartbeat that helped too Smile it will get easier as you go through your pregnancy and feel baby move, but for now get as much reassurance as you need! X

If you can afford it sure, just know that some of these private places are really aimed at cute pictures for the parents. While they are trained they have been known to give false reassurance or false worry.

I had early scans with both mine due to bleeds and early pregnancy is such a minefield of anxiety.

Im the same had 3 miscarriages last year. I'm currently 13 weeks now. Had my 12 week scan last week and no worring again. I have tried looking on wowcher and groupon for offers for scans. I won't be seeing a midwife till 18 weeks.
I would love to how to manage my worries if anyone has tips.

I'm having my third private scan today at 10.5 weeks. After 2 miscarriages this year I felt I needed to break down the first trimester into manageable chunks. I know it's not a guarantee but my fear was reaching 12 weeks and being told I'd had an MMC. I would want to know asap.
