Does early labour feel like gas pain / constipation?

FTM and I’m 39 weeks today and from yesterday I’ve had the worst stomach pains on and off. The pains are at the top of my bump like gas pains and bottom of bump like constipation (I don’t have trapped gas or constipation still going regularly sorry tmi) some braxton hicks but not in any pattern and so much pressure down below I can hardly walk. The pain kept waking me up last night.

I always thought labour was more period pains type pains? Anyone else experience this when in labour?

For me they weren’t- mine definitely started as period pains and became contractions that were distinctively uterus like, I couldn’t have confused it with gas pains. Having said that I think it’s normal to also get some gas pains etc around labour as well, so it still could all be a sign things are gearing up for labour. Good luck OP!
