Vitamin D - Breastfed Babies?

Hoping to breastfeed our first little one due in a few weeks. It’s been mentioned in passing that breastfed babies should be given a daily Vitamin D supplement?

Silly question - do I just pick a brand and buy Vit D drops and go with those? Or is there a specific brand/type that are recommended by midwives/health visitors? 🤔

All BF babies should be having Vit D supplements and that’s been NHS advice for over 10 years. My ds is nearly 12 and that advice was definitely around when he was born. Mum taking Vit D won’t help the baby because it doesn’t transfer through breast milk.
And yes we should all be taking Vit D all year round, I use a spray because it’s absorbed better.
