Anyone seen a dentist since covid? 6 mths pregnant

Can anyone tell me what happens about seeing a dentist when pregnant? I thought we got free treatment / were supposed to see a dentist during pregnancy, but obviously covid has thrown some spanners in the works!
My NHS place has been 'archived' as I haven't been for 3-4 years, but my local practice aren't seeing anyone for non emergencies at the moment anyway (although they are taking private patients..)

The receptionist says that once things have settled down I can ring up and see if they have space for me to go on their NHS list, but understandably there's no way of knowing when that might be and I won't be registered as one of their patients so that's dependent on something being available at the right time.

I thought dentistry was important when pregnant! I'm about 6 months now and had been hoping the practice would resume a normal service, but they haven't been able to yet.

Any advice for what I should do, or should I just suck up the £80 and pay for private just to be safe?
Thanks!

If you have a need to go I would pay private. These aren’t normal times and most don’t seem to be doing check ups. I haven’t seen a dentist during my pregnancy but don’t have any concerns. I had some bleeding when brushing earlier in my pregnancy but bought some mouthwash specially for gingivitis.

My practice isn't doing routine appointments ATM so I haven't been at any point in this pregnancy. My last appointment was supposed to be in August but obviously that was cancelled.

I'm not too worried as luckily I've not had any dermal trouble, though obviously it's not ideal.

Thanks guys. Yeah I don't have any issues, the midwife told me at booking appointment to see the dentist and I did nothing about it. I just wondered if it was likely/possible there would be something going on pregnancy related that's always worth getting checked out. But if lots of people don't bother I'm not too concerned as I've never had issues with my teeth at all.

I’m 8 months pregnant and had hoped to see a dentist before dc due. Also wanted to take dd who is 2 for her first visit but not looking likely anytime soon.

I wouldn't worry if you aren't having any issues.
I have seen my nhs dentist for a general check up and then a root canal recently but it does seem to be a bit of a postcode lottery as to what they're doing at the moment.
