I know this is a bit of a first work problem moan and I was probably ready for a work change before pregnancy but...

Working from home constantly and not having the usual variety of life because of COVID has made things a bit dull right? Am I the only one?

I can't wait for mat leave and the baby now and to close the door on work and all the office politics that goes with it for a year.

I'm sure when the baby is here I might miss a bit of work or doing my own thing but honestly right now I am not bothered about targets or making other people money, I just want to hold my baby and focus on our new family.

Same here. I have a lot less patience for the politics and nonsense. Feel like it's helped me to get a bit of perspective. That said, I do enjoy most of my job, but has made me despise the bits I didn't like before.

onetwothreeadventure · 13/10/2020 22:02

Same. I had the day from hell and am in tears at the thought of going to sit in a room by myself doing the same thing all over again tomorrow.

flashbac · 13/10/2020 22:10

Pregnant or not I think alot of people are feeling pretty flat and demotivated.

CBhope · 13/10/2020 22:22

Yes completely. Especially with not many exciting projects happening for obvious reasons plus becoming increasingly uncomfortable my motivation is at a low. I think it’s fairly common on the run up to mat leave though

ttcchapter1 · 13/10/2020 22:38

@onetwothreeadventure literally could have typed that myself.

Hate it so much especially whilst being pregnant

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 13/10/2020 22:41

I did think today, thank god im on mat leave too- being stuck at home is hard enough, stuck at home and trying to work is a whole other level of hell.
2.5wks to go for me

Sheera1 · 13/10/2020 22:44

4 more weeks on Monday for me. I am working from home so it isn't too bad and working till the Friday and c section on the Monday! I am just thinking everyday now is longer off at the other side!

MaverickDanger · 13/10/2020 23:03

Six weeks left for me & all I’ve heard is “we’re not sure what we’re going to do without you”.

Not my circus for a year.

I am wanting them to hurry up and hire a replacement because this job needs a minimum four week handover & I don’t want to be really stretched trying to do the job and handover at the same time.

Gerdticker · 13/10/2020 23:10

I kind of envy you Grin

I run a business with my husband and these are pretty interesting times aren’t they Grin

Kind of wish I could just go on a carefree maternity leave... but no chance!!! I know I’ll be doing emails within days of baby arriving.. if I last that long!

I did however choose to be self employed because I can’t bear office politics and all the wasted time on soul destroying nonsense - I don’t miss that at all! So you still have my sympathy :)

Bluejayway91 · 14/10/2020 08:54

I'm with you, OP. I have just over 5 weeks to go and it is dragging.

Obviously, I'm glad to have a job in the current climate, but the work is dull and soul-destroying, plus clients are being extra demanding. I just don't have the energy.

I cannot wait for mat leave and to focus on my baby for the next year or so.

WhiteCloud6 · 14/10/2020 09:40

I'm taking maternity at 38 weeks so have 4 weeks untill I go. Coping fine...I think...I am exhausted after work but who isant! I feel like I'm constantly being asked about how I feel and how I'm coping and how long I have left! I do go down to half days on my last 2 weeks to make it easier.

Sunshinedahlia · 14/10/2020 10:40

I normally love my job but I also really want to just dive fully into baby stuff now. We‘re reorganising loads of things internally right now at work and it‘s requiring a lot of brain work from me. I‘m also really uncomfortable sitting at my dining table all day and very tired. I still have about 2.5 months to go!

lucymagoo · 14/10/2020 10:43

Yes I relate to this and I'm only in the first trimester 😂 just feels like I have so much more important things to focus on than emails right now

AriettyHomily · 14/10/2020 10:45

I'm not pregnant but I am fed up with work!

bleachblondemom · 14/10/2020 12:54

I feel exactly the same. I’ve got 4 weeks left to go of work and my attitude is terrible at the moment. I’m WFH so don’t have to interact with my colleagues too much but when I do I’m just like urgh leave me alone. Every little thing I’m asked to do stresses me out and I’m getting annoyed really easily.
