Growth scan following bump measurements

Hello lovely MNs.....

Just wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation as I'm having a little panic!

Been for me 38 week MW appointment and the growth (tape measurement) seems to have slowed/gone backwards.....she took different measurements each time. I've been referred for a growth scan but she said that might take days and now I'm really worried placenta or something not working properly!

Anyone had similar issues and it al been ok?

All these issues during COVID are so stressful! Thank you everyone xx

I had a growth scan recently as my bump was measuring smaller 35 weeks and everything was absolutely fine! Try not to worry, the sonographer I had said it’s not accurate how midwifes measure the bump xx

@gettingupearlyzzzz fungal height can be so subjective! It can even change depending on who measures it as they don't all measure exactly the same way- also at 38 weeks baby could be engaged which could cause a change in bump size, or facing a different way- of course there could also be a problem with growth but its less likely at this stage- they are quite good with the scans and tend to get you in ASAP so you may only have to wait a day or two, just pay closer attention to movements and any worries go straight to be seen :) good luck!

I had 2 growth scans as bump repeatedly measured small. both showed baby was absolutely fine :) are you tall OP? I'm 5'11 and apparantly if you have a long body that can mean bump measures smaller.

I had a growth scan at 35 weeks as my bump wasnt growing in line with the curve which they expect. Everything was fine, placenta and fluid all normal and baby predicted a healthy weight.

Had my baby 3 weeks ago and he was born weighing 7.2.i was 38 weeks + 2.

I wouldn't give any notice or worry about bump measurements - just for a bit of perspective I live in Greece and they don't do any bump measurements. The difference is that every woman here has a consultant led birth and regular scans, whereas with the NHS they don't offer scans at every appt...
My bump has definitely been on the small side just by appearance up til now 26+5, but all growth scans have been great.
So don't panic :) I'm sure all is well!!

I had multiple growth scans with my 2nd baby because my bump measurements were all over the place. Some weeks I'd be showing no bump growth at all then a couple or weeks later I'd be off the chart! Every growth scan showed a perfectly normal pregnancy for my dates and I went on the have a healthy baby at term without any problems at all. I did get a hell of a lot of stretch Mark's feom all those growth spurts though Hmm.
