Pregnant after eptopic pregnancy

Hi all

I'm fairly new to mumsnet but have found it so useful!

I was hoping to get some reassurance or experience on finding out you're pregnant after an ectopic.

Some background, I had an ectopic in Jan which resulted in my left tube being removed. I then had a miscarriage in May and have now found out I'm pregnant again!

However I'm getting a dull ache on the opposite side (right side where I still have a tube) and am so scared its happening again. The EPU have said its too early for a scan and need to wait a week.
I'm hoping everything is OK, not sure i can go through it again. I'm also 34 and really want a healthy child.

Xx

Hi @AD1986, sorry for your previous losses but congratulations for this pregnancy!
I had an ectopic and tube removal in December. I fell pregnant again relatively quickly by March and am now 34 weeks. The first bit was the hardest because although they’d previously said I’d have an early pregnancy scan at 6 weeks, this was in height of lockdown and they said it was actually safer to wait at home until 12 week scan (unless I had any really dodgy symptoms).
That waiting was hard and you do worry about every symptom, but try not to.
I always post on these ectopic threads when they come up because I think it’s important to hear positive stories to give you hope!
X

Also I’m 38 yes old so that should reassure you! X

Awww congratulations! That's amazing news :) you've given me some hope - thank you for responding 😊

Did you get similar pains with this pregnancy? Its so hard to not overthink and Google everything!

It is really hard. I definitely didn’t get pain as strong as the ectopic got but I think I did get little cramps. I remember one night I had some light bleeding that stopped/started when I went to the toilet and got really down but when I phoned EPU they weren’t worried.
You do worry and second guess every tiny thing. Unfortunately it is a waiting game, so keep hanging on and fingers crossed x

hiya.

Sorry to hear about your previous losses, I had an ecptopic back in September 2018, right tube lost. I'm currently 36+1 with my little rainbow baby so don't loose all hope!

I had pain on my right side early stages of this pregnancy and kept thinking something was wrong i think we will forever have that panic set into us! How far are you??

Good luck xxxx
